| Diet Stress One of the most upsetting things about FMS is that many of us tend to gain weight. Our response to that is often to go on one of the popular diets or cut calories drastically. One of the things I've learned is that those methods cause stress to our bodies and stress increases the FMS symptons. It's much better to accept that we may have to be a few pounds heavier than we were, discover what the appropriate calorie intake for us as an individual is and eat sensibly. Weight comes off slower but we don't push ourselves into a fibro attack that negates the diet. It is very difficult to care or stick to a diet when you are in pain and hit by major carbohydrate craving. I find that if I am following the FMS diet, then even during the worst attacks the carbohydrate craving isn't as intense. copyright 2000, Mitsou. |
