The Avenger was originally released as the "Next Generation in the Aztec series" of Fiberfab cars and named the "Fiberfab Aztec Avenger" in 1967.  The Avenger bodies were produced in the California plant.  It quickly lost the "Aztec" prefix and became just the "Fiberfab Avenger", but here is an early flyer with "Aztec still in the name (LS):
Here's a later promo without the "Aztec" qualifier in the name (LS).  If you look closely at the white Avenger on the cover page, doesn't the steering wheel look a little high?  This may just another one of Fiberfabs many picture "fake-outs":
