I.A.V.A. In the beginning of 70s decade it was born a historical company, the Argentine Industrie of Advanced Vehicles, alias I.A.V.A., as a directive of FIAT to develope sport models of the 128. Domiciliada en Fondo de la Legua al 2200, en la localidad de Martnez de la Provincia de Buenos Aires, y con el ingeniero Juan Carlos Fisanotti como responsable tcnico, la I.A.V.A. comienza su trabajo con el 128 IAVA 1100, caracterizado por sus asientos con respaldo inflable. started it work with the 128 IAVA 1100, caracterized by its inflatable
sports seats. The modifications were not only in the interior (where the seats, the panel and the steering wheel where the stars), but also in the exterior and the mechanics. The engine power reached the 71HP, it had a sport suspension, powerful brakes, faster steering, and bright colors with typical paintings and logos on the exterior. Sorprendente!. The 1300 TV was another version of this little monsters. It had a 102 HP, 1300 cc that pushed the 850kg car from 0 to 100 km/h (0-60 mph) in less than 10s, and reached a maximum speed of 170 km/h. This technology allowed the IAVAs to had an amazing 79,13 CV/liter relation compared with the 70,17 CV/liter of a Fiat 131 Abarth Rally or the 72,84 CV/liter of the Ferrari 512 BB. All this power for only 10 liters of fuel per 100 km cruising at 140/150 km/h. Awesome!. |
