Match #1:  vs. Deportivo (0-2)

This game popped our cherries so to speak. Although we actually seemed pretty solid at the back, the first goal they scored on us probably did the most damage in that it was a bad goal, and relatively early in the game. Ash was really shaky from the get go. Almost as if he never played the game before. Another big problem that wasn't easy to deal with during the game was that a lot of our guys were new with each other and not familiar with each other's style of playing. This with time will improve as long as everyone can make it to practice on a regular basis. We did have some good set plays towards the end of the match, however we lacked finish and consequently were shut out. On a positive note, a loud shout out goes to our defenders who maintained consistency at the back. Overall, we were definitely not beaten by the better team, as Deportivo were no where near impressive. The result was a matter of our mistakes, which is encouraging since it enables us to improve, which is something in the near future we will undoubtedly achieve.
