SOYA and FHYF Regulations: The League and Organization state clearly that a teams head coach is responsible for the conduct and safety of not only the players and other coached, but of the parents and supporters of their Forest Hills team. The head coach, having this ultimate responsibility, bears the brunt of any sanctions or penalties resulting from acts of misconduct-from a 15 yard unsportsman-like conduct penalty from off-color remarks from the stand, to full suspension and revocation of coach in extreme circumstance such as falsification of records, assault or battery, verbal abusive a player, and the like. Given that a head coach bears this responsibility, we have a simple code of conduct that we expect our parents and supporters to follow: The Code: As a parent of supporter of Forest Hills Youth Football, I will conduct myself in a manner consistent with the organizations philosophies and direction at all organization-sponsored functions, including practices and games. I will not knowingly or willfully educate a player (or cheerleader) in practices or techniques not sanctioned or supported by the organization insofar as they pertain to the sport of football, cheerleading, or other such endeavor FHYF may undertake from time to tome. I understand that should I fail to conduct myself accordingly, I may be reviewed and disciplined by the organization or league. Head Coach Responsibilities: If a situation or event becomes known to a head coach, and after advise the counsel with his couching staff and the Director of Coaches he/she fees that a parent/supporter has acted outside the bounds of the organizations guidelines, it is the responsibility of the coach to bring the situation/event to the attention of the FHYF Board for future disposition. Such situations or events include, but are not limited to: situations in which a coach feels a parent, supporter, or a player being influenced by same may put one or more other players at undue risk of harm-both verbal abuse and physical harm. Situations in which a coach feels an ethic or moral may have been broached, as outlined in the Coaches Code of Conduct and Players Code of Conduct, including falsification of records of birth, residence, etc Other situations not specifically identified or covered above, but which may arose from time to time, and on advise of the Director of Coached should be brought to the Boards attention. FHYF Board Responsibilities: The Board will review all such circumstances and had the right and responsibility to take any and all action necessary to eliminate the situation and/or restore the level of conduct and fair play the organization works to exemplify. Actions which may be taken by the Board include, but are not limited to: Placing a parent/supporter on warning. Placing a parent/supporter on probation, and following up with a review point. Placing a parent/supporter on suspension, from one or more games and /or practices up to lifetime suspension. Placing a parent/supporter on limited suspension, setting a review point to determine next steps, which may be required. It is not the Boards intent to punish a player or cheerleader for either acts of misconduct of a parent or supporter, or possibly even an act by the player if undue influence exists. However, should the actions taken by the Board will exclude the child from further activities of the organization. Thank You. |
