Tasks performed:

§      Supervised DEC (China) for the erection of the project

§      Assured the implementation of approved drawings and quality procedure for all the erection activities

§      Ensured the implementation of international standards like ASTM, ASME (B 31.1), API (650), AWS, ASME Pressure Vessel Code (Sec II, V, IX etc) for different units

        of the project e.g. Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, G.T and S.T Hall Steel Structure, HRSG, Fuel Oil Tanks, CW Pipeline and Mechanical Draft Cooling Tower

§      Inspected material fabrication, processes involved in erection activities like welding (SMAW, GTAW, SAW, pre-heat, post heat treatment, review of WPS, PQR, etc)

        grinding, Sand blasting and the techniques like RT, PI Testing, DPT for ensuring the quality of these processes

§      For the GT relating issues, worked in collaboration with G.E. Technical Assistants

§      Checked invoices and monthly statements of the Mechanical Erection Works as well as the equipment coming from Shanghai, France, Italy, Bulgaria etc to the

        site through Karachi Port

§       Examined the quantity, quality as well as the condition of the shipments arrived at the site and their storage at the ware houses

§       Ensured the implementation of Safety Rules during all the processes, erection works and crane operations

Tasks performed:

§     Engaged in the preliminary and detailed design reviews of 747 MW Guddu Project involving all the systems like fuel oil supply, fuel gas supply, condensate, feedwater,

       HP LP and IP steam, HP bypass steam/de-superheating water, startup steam, hot water boiler, performance heater water supply, drain flash and blow-down, ST and

       GT lube oil, generator sealing, fire fighting, closed and open cycle cooling water, compressed air, GT washing water, GT evaporative cooler, and all the piping

        relating to these equipments covering from material approval, corrosion protection, painting and thermal insulations to dimensions focusing the corresponding

        international standards

§      Effectively reviewed all the piping interfaces and connections between G.E, B&V and the main contract HEI

§      Highlighted a major issue regarding the overall heat balance of the system occurred due to the low inlet fuel gas pressure of 21 Bar compared with the previously

       assured pressure of 35 Bar by the Gas supplier

§      Participated in the design review meetings with HEI (China)
