This is a prom purse that I made for my oldest daughter. It is the  first thing I made using right-angle weave.  I used the instructions for right-angle weave  in BEADED AMULET PURSES by Nicolette Stessin. I found the instructions easy to understand.  I made the fabric bag to fit the beaded part. I braided silver metallic cord to made the long shoulder strap.  It is strong and I just did not have enough time or beads to make a beaded strap. I think it looks nice,  I weaved it in and out of the bottom and side openings.
This is a bag that I made using the Sharondipity's Tiny Tube Loom.  The design is one that came with the loom.  I think the loom is easy to use once you get the thread on it. The strap is bordered crosses from Horace R. Goodhue's book INDIAN BEAD-WEAVING PATTERNS. I put a double fringe on the bag The pink beads are clear beads lined with pink and the back of the bag is a darker pink than the front and the strap, because the pink faded.
This is a pair of earrings I made. They are rosette or comanche rosettes earrings. That is brick stitch around a larger center bead. There is an article in "Jewelry Crafts" December 1997 magazine, but I learned to make rosettes like these from the book "Beautiful Beads" by Alexandra Kidd.
This is a pair of earrings that I made for a teacher at Windsor Elementary School. They are square stitch with long fringe. She likes big earrings.
This a split loom necklace. I used the instructions in "Bead and Button' #7 to make the necklace and I designed the roses myself. Gayle built the loom I used to make it. I hope we have changed the picture so it does not take so long to download.
This is a piece of stained glass cut for me by Cathy Vieira of Smithfield VA, She has a shop there and she makes beautiful stained glass items. I used peyote stitch to go around the outside so both sides of the glass show. The strap is from Horace R. Goodhue's book INDIAN BEAD-WEAVING PATTERNS. This is one of my favorite books.
This is an unfinished piece of stained glass that I am going to finish beading around the outside and over the leather. I thought somebody might be interested in how I did the piece. I glued leather to the outside of the piece and sewed a line of beads(Use an even nunber of beads.) in the center of the leather with a 2 bead stitch,an example of this is in INDIAN BEAD-WEAVING PATTERNS ,go back through all the beads again with your thread, then I started peyote stitch on each side of the original line of beads The peyote stitch has to be reduced as you bead over the sides.
This is a side view of the stained glass piece with the leather on the outside.
This is a pair of barrettes I made. They are  square stitch with fringe. They are backed in leather.
This is a choker made using one of the "zig-zag" patterns in the book INDIAN BEAD-WEAVING PATTERNS. I used rattail cord for the ties. I used red thread to wrap the cord ends that are folded over the beadwork end loops.
I would appreciate any comments. Just e-mail me
