Versailles was a little train trip outside of Paris. It was really hot during our side trip to Versailles. I think we both got really tired when we were walking in the 'garden' behind the palace, which is the size of a small country.

This is the front of the Palace of Versailles. Note the cobbled 'driveway'. It's huge, it's long, and it's extremely hot and dry. I think it was designed to make visitors to the palace get really uncomfortable. The statue is King Louis XIV, I think.

This is the famous Hall of Mirrors. Probably the only really interesting room in the palace. According to Burke's book _The Pinball Effect_, the king decided to have the room done up this way when some guy finally figured out how to make huge, flat pieces of glass.

This was a clever shot of us done by me, so we didn't have to ask someone to take our picture. It didn't come out as well as I thought...
