Another
change is that now, Lan and I are married. Woo hoo! We took a short tandem
ride last Saturday. We rode from our home to school, did some light work,
and went to the Government Locks, and accross that to Discovery Park. It
was much closer than I had realized, and aside from a few steep sections,
really easy. I think we'll do that more often. Strangely enough,
they had the same Fuschia Society display at the locks as the last time
we were at the locks. I guess we keep going back at the same time
in the year. They had normal flower displays, but they also had a bunch
of blossoms arranged in plastic Champagne glasses. They had them
under a red canopy, so the pictures came out tinted red, which is unfortunate.
They also had some classic cars on display.
It was only a few minutes from the locks to Discovery Park, which looks
a bit like a desert in this shot, but it's kind of like a weird beach,
where there's beach sand, but the beach goes on a bit, and then drops about
150 feet until it reaches the water. Very strange. And dangerous,
if you goof around near the edge. We sat under a tree a bit back
from the ledge, and relaxed and ate some snacks before riding back home.
