It's been quite a while since my last entry... I've been busy with some school stuff (some of which I should be doing now...).
I've still been doing the Thursday Seward Crits, and two weeks ago, I only got lapped once. But last week, I got lapped twice again, but only on the last lap. I think I am definitely getting faster.
Last Sunday, we went northwards from the regular ride start site at Logboom Park. It's apparently one of the regular routes, but I had never been that way before. I kind of liked it, because it was a short ride (~2 hours) but very hilly. It's a very good workout, I think.
I've also started to commute by bike. I rode to and from school the last two days, which means I've had no rest days since the hard ride on Sunday. I'm much faster now. I commute on my mountain bike, and I used to average a bit under 14 mph for just one way. On the ride to school, I managed to average over 16 mph, and yesterday I was able to complete the round trip with a 15.1 mph average. This is really good for me, as the return trip has a really steep hill, followed by a longer one near my house. When I started, I couldn't go up the steep hill even with the low gearing on my mountain bike, and I could barely go up the longer hill near my house. Now I can go up both pretty easily even with my loaded commute bike or my not-so-low-geared road bike.
I had better get back to working on my school things.
