| I then shot a video where I asked various artists and students from Beijing's thriving yet hidden art community to stand behind the painting. I asked them to describe (in Mandarin) what they saw; what each icon was, what its function was, and how it related to the other icons. I then edited together the best of these interviews and later put in English subtitles. | ||||||||||
