is my favorite season. If you avoid all distractions you can really concentrate on nostalgia.

I went to the Watershed today and walked around the woods picking up pretty leaves. It was getting dark, and I hadn't realized that the ground would be so wet. My feet were really cold because my sneakers were leaky. But it was beautiful. There were all these woodland creatures talking at each other about this and that, whitetail deer bouncing around in the darkening meadows like low grav alien life. It was all very peaceful, a perfect time to concentrate on nature paranoia. There is an infinite amount of detail when you look out in the universe, and even more when you look round and round in a spooky 3d chaos feild like the woods. And colors. And hiding spots. And modern farming contrasted with cold soil and no food just popping out of the roots.

I went home and spent hours scanning leaves at 2000 dots per inch, then zooming way in and looking at all the midiaeval cities, river systems, and brain scans. That's a lot better than art school. A lot better than going out.

Plus now there are leaves all over my keyboard, all over my desk. Hundreds of leaves. It smells infinately mystical, waxdust, jurassic, hollow, paintleaves. mmm. Like everything bodies close with pockets of warm and cold rolling out flat and crispy.

And yesterday I went out for two more walks in the woods, taking video and collecting leaves. I think I must have gotten too cold again, because I am sick again. Owchie. Fans! Send meds! -me
