Offensive Tower Rush

v1.04

A Orcish strategy that is really only viable on smaller maps, the dreaded Tower Rush is considered to be a cheap tactic by many, but since top players have no problem defending against it, it DOES have a counter, and thus (in my mind) is a legitimate tactic. Not to mention that Blizzard nerfed the Orcish tower in 1.02, making this strategy tougher to pull off anyway. Anybody who can win with a Tower Rush deserves the victory.

The basic gist of the Tower Rush it to build towers in offensive positions, and slowly turtle into the enemies base.

There are two different types of Tower Rushes. Tower Rush #1 is an all out gambit, that if you fail, you've lost the game. Tower Rush #2, my preferred rush, involves setting up your economy for a stronger tower rush followed by a quick tech to catapults to deal with any enemy seige....but allows the enemy time to gain a bit of strength.

Tower Rush #1 - Higher Risk, Quicker Strike

Build Order:

1-3 peon to enemy base
4 peon Warmill
5 peon to Gold

(Keep building peons Alternate between wood and gold. Always have at least one more peon on wood than on gold, and never exceed 5 peons on gold.)

How to Execute:

-When your peons get to the enemy's base, proceed to build three towers, so that you'll be able attack all of their main buildings.
-When your peons finish building the towers, use them to either repair any towers that are being attacked, or if the enemy starts to attack your peons, then run them around in circles so that the enemy units will continue taking damage from the towers while not inflicting any.
-Wait for the enemy to die.

Tower Rush #2 - Quick Economy Followed by Quick Tech

Build Order:

1-3 peon to Gold
Queue 2 peons (Rally to Gold)
4 peon Altar (wood when finished)
5 peon Burrow (Warmill when finished)

(Keep building peons (Rally to Wood) until you get to 20 supply)
Choose Farseer as your hero, with Spirit Wolves as your first hero point (Rally to same point you're planning on building your offensive towers.)

-At about 18 supply, send 2 peons near enemy base.
(Your Farseer should arrive to your construction site about the same time as your peons do.)
-Build a second Burrow
-Research Warmill Spikes upgrade

How to Execute:

-What you need to do is to get at LEAST three towers up before the enemy finds you.

(When you're building your 6th (approx) tower, send a THIRD peon to your offensive towers, and instruct him to build a Barracks.)

(Upgrade to Keep as soon as you send your THIRD peon to the enemy's base.)
-Your Keep should finish upgrading about the same time as your Barracks finish building.

-Proceed to build towers closer and closer to the enemy's base until the enemy's buildings are in your newly constructed tower's range and taking fire.
-Once your Barracks is finished, proceed to build another Burrow next to the Barracks, and commence the building of Catapults.
-Proceed to use the catapults to counter any siege weapons the enemy may have gotten. If the enemy begins to move towards your catapult(s), retreat, so that the enemy units will take as many hits from the towers as possible.
