There really isn't much to worry about here, the constantly appearing (and reappearing) Zombies, the Fire Spirits here and there are all easy to kill, but watch out for the occasional floating coffin. The Tsunami waves later in the level are also easy to pass, so don't worry. Anyway. Double jump to the left for a chest right off the bat, or if you can't get it to appear, go in the corner and double jump there. Head to the left, and the ground will shoot up. Jump onto the pillar and walk off, and another chest will appear, the Bronze Armor will most likely be in it if you didn't get hit beforehand. There's nothing else of interest until you get to the hill with the spikes in it, but first take care of the Wolf on top, then enter the hill to get a money bag. Continue to the right until you get to another pillar, take out the Wolf on top of it then double jump on the left side of the pillar for another chest. Jump onto the pillar and wait for the Fire Spirit to fire at you, then go down and kill it. Keep going to the right and there'll be another hill, sort of buried but the ground will collapse allowing you to enter the hill like the last one. Destroy the Wolf on top then enter, kill both Fire Spirits, and a chest will appear on top of the hill where the two Wolves are. Exit, climb the ladder, but be careful not to get hit by them, Get the chest and the money bag hanging near the tree on the left side of the hill. After that grab the money bag on the tree, and continue to the right. There'll be strange, um, bone pillars I guess you could call them up ahead, and skulls will periodically fall out of their mouths, so you'll have to past under them carefully. Kill the Wolf sitting under the second bone pillar, and the other one sitting on the hill ahead, then past under the bone pillar. Double jump near the tall bone pillar for another chest, then kill the Wolf on the other side of the tall bone pillar. Once you get by the tall bone pillar, you'll be in the clear. Well, not quite yet, but close enough, all you have to do now is get through the Tsunami wave section. After you past the final pillar, run, until you get to the next pillar, and stay there until the Tsunami wave pasts. Do this all the way through this area and you'll be fine, but watch out for the chest that appears later on, this will be a bear trap if you didn't get hit yet, otherwise it might be something useful. Make your way to the right and you'll find yourself in the Forest of Fear. This area is just as easy as the other area was, but there are new enemies here. Don't kill all of the Spores (the pulsating pinkish bubbles), only the ones in your way. Continue to the right and there'll be a skeleton cart waiting at the top of the hill, which will roll down towards you after the hill collapses. ALWAYS jump over the skeleton carts, or you'll lose your armor or worse, your life. Keep going, and jump over the stationary skeleton cart, then jump back to get the chest. There'll be a money bag up ahead near the top of the screen which you can get, but you'll likely lose a life getting it, in other words, it isn't worth it. Jump to the left, then jump back and a chest will appear on the hill. Grab the contents and jump across the gap, run forward and jump over the skeleton cart before it hits you. Jump across the other gap, over the skeleton cart in your way, and onto the plateau. This next part is important, you should only do a single jump over the final skeleton cart, because if you double jump, you'll likely get hit by it. Once you've cleared the cart, continue on and you'll be at the boss. BOSS: Cockatrice Geez, this isn't the typical GN'G boss, this one is incredibly easy. The Lightning Magic of the Lance works wonders for this boss, otherwise the Crossbow is the weapon of choice. In order to use the Magic of the Lance effectively, you'll have to be under him, which might be a little dangerous. If you're using the Crossbow, just stand near him, and fire away. When the Cockatrice stretches out his neck, just back up, and when he spits up an egg, just back up and fire at it when it hatches. The Cockatrice will be dead in no time flat if you continually fire at it. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stage 2 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A slight raising of the difficulty, but still easy overall. Just be careful not to double jump too much while you're on the ship or various parts might start sinking prematurely while your still there, and water kills in this game. Get the point? Anyway, jump off the rickety dock, and onto the ship. Double jump here for a chest, then continue to the right and another chest should reveal itself after the slight drop. Keep going until you reach the edge, then jump up, but be mindful of the guillotine above you. Jump up when the guillotine is swinging to the right, then go left and up the ladder. Go left and jump off the edge and back again for another chest, but watch out for the ghosts, then head right onto the platform for a ride. Jump off near the right side of the platform to get another chest. Now go left, kill the Mimic, and climb to the top. Once you're at the top, go left to get a chest, then go to the right. Jump onto the other platform, then wait for the guillotine there to swing to the left, then jump over it and the Mimic waiting at the edge of the platform. Don't try and kill it or you'll have to do some fancy footwork to keep your armor on. You can kill the Mimic on the bottom though if you want. After that jump onto the hanging platform to get sent overboard. You're now on the Sea of Despair with nothing but a rickety old raft to keep you safe. You'll enter two whirlpool areas, but this is nothing, just jump to the other rafts as you see them. That's another thing, the Magic Crossbow or the Magic Dagger will work wonders in this area, and on the boss, but that’s coming up. After you kill the first piranha, start jumping around, there should be a chest nearby. Soon afterwards, the sea will start rising and falling, accompanied by neat lightning sound effects. Not long after that, you should jump around again, another chest is close. Anyway, this is where the second half of this level really starts, and not long after a long column of coral will appear, along with a Coral Cannon. Always destroy Coral Cannons quickly, they become a major hazard if you don't. Moving right along... another Coral Cannon will appear, this time a little higher than the last one, so it should be easy to kill, followed by more Piranhas. This is basically the pattern all throughout this level: Coral Cannons (occasionally groups of Coral Cannons), followed by Piranhas. Later on, you'll come across Fish Men, which you should destroy as quickly as possible because they'll shoot a trio of fireballs at you if you don't. Not long after your first encounter with Fish Men, there'll be another chest, which should just appear, you won't have to do any jumping or stuff like that. After that, you'll start raft-hopping, followed by more Pirahas. This is near the end of the stage, so the big boss will appear soon, a giant barnacle. BOSS: Sea Barnacle This boss can be an occasional pain in the ass, especially on the higher difficulties. Its main attack is to shoot cone shells at you, while moving left and right around the screen. The waves are still here, so you can use it to avoid the shells when possible. His main attack is to shoot cone shells at you, which can be a pain because you constantly moving, other than that, it just moves around. Normally I'd say that the Dagger or Magic Dagger is the best weapon for this boss, due to it's straight trajectory, resulting in more hits overall, but it has two close rivals: the Magic Crossbow and the Magic Scythe with Lightning Magic. The Magic Crossbow is nice to have here mainly because of it's homing ability; just basically sit back and fire, while dodging Barney’s shells of course. Tornado Magic is very good to have here because you can basically just go up to the barnacle and use it a few times to win. Mostly, the weapon you'll want will depend on what you have prior to the boss. The Tornado Magic method will kill it the quickest though. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stage 3 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BOSS: Mongolian Death Worm's Third Cousin -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stage 4 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BOSS: Hydra -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stage 5 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BOSS: Freon -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stage 6 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BOSS: Asutaroto Asutaroto isn’t so tough, just don’t -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stage 7 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BOSS: Asutaroto/Nebiroth -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Princesses’ Bracelet -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When you defeat Nebiroth a message will appear from the princess that you can’t enter stage 8 without her bracelet. You’ll restart the game at the first stage, luckily with everything you had before. Unfortunately, the difficulty will be raised from the position it was at when you started the game. You’ll have to work your way back through the stages until you reach Nibiroth again, this time with the bracelet, and when you defeat him again, you’ll be able to enter stage 8. Try to have the bracelet before you defeat Nebiroth or you’ll probably have to restart the stage or even worse, the whole game again. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stage 8 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BOSS: Sardius =============================================================================== FAQ =============================================================================== =============================================================================== Closing =============================================================================== End of Document________________________________________________________________
