Versatile White Sauce
photo

2 cu. almond milk

3 Tbsp. margarine (or whatever you tolerate)

3 Tbsp. all purpose flour

1 tsp. dijon mustard

3/4 tsp. salt

1/8 tsp. cayenne

1/8 tsp. nutmeg

In small saucepan, heat milk but do not boil. Keep warm. Melt margarine in medium saucepan over medium heat. Add flour and whisk for 1 minute. Add heated milk, whisking constantly until sauce is smoothe. Reduce heat to med-low. Add mustard, cayenne, nutmeg, salt and cook about a minute longer.

This is good in casseroles, as a soup base for broccoli soup, as a pasta sauce, be creative.

Works well with al vegetables, tuna, ham, turkey, chicken, etc., too!

Yum! Thanks for sharing this. I like the mustard element, and I can also use an all purpose Gluten Free flour mix I know of (Bob's Red Mill).
