Isn't it funny how when you are in the middle of the chaos of the morning, God stops you and syas, "Hey, you're not even acknowledging ME!" It was Rosie's birthday and we had only 20 minutes to finish the kids lunch packing, open Rosie's gifts, and get everyone out the door, so you know what I did? I was reaching in the hall closet for a new box of freezer bags and dropped a large new can of hair spray on my big toe. Well, I won't dwell on the big mess it made or the throbbing from the 3/4 in. gash, but I will say that God got my attention! Jay rallied to the cause of nurse-maid and helped get the girls lunches finished and got me some water and toast and my Bible and book to read so I could rest for the morning. The bleeding stopped, the gifts got opened, the girls got to show choir, and Jay got to school on time (forgetting to bag up his own lunch!) all without me worrying over them! And I was able to sit down and spend some quiet time in prayer this morning, which was great. Becky's surgery is today and I really needed to refocus my mind and attitude. Isn't it just awesome when you know God is just trying to get your attention? And even better when you listen? In spite of the toe (which will be fine and no stiches) I think its been a good morning. I shall rest in the Lord today and enjoy my day off from laundry. And if you think God doesn't have a hand in this---yesterday I cleaned all my rooms (except a few dishes) and did the laundry so the housework was fairly caught up; Jay's lunch period is at 11:45 so he can run out in fron of the school to get his lunch from me at exactly the time I would have left to pick up Austin at day care; I was planning to clean the linen closet (from whence falleth the offending hairspray) today and will so be keeping it at the top of my list of projects.....just not today!

God Bless All of you and may you not have to be injured to be aware that God is with you today and just wants you to spend the day with Him!

Did I mention we were having a Rollerskating Night for Awana tonight? That's so FUNNY!:)
