When Friendship Turns To Love Part 19 (rated pg-13) That morning at breakfast was an embarrassing experience for Catherine. She remembered what Vincent had told her about Devin seeing them in the tunnel. Devin enters the grandhall and looks around at all the smiling faces, the happiness and realizes how much he had missed being home. Maybe if things work out, he can remain here a little longer this time. He looked at Catherine and Vincent holding hands talking and laughing. Catherine�s beautiful smile lit up the entire hall. She was such a beauty. If only he could find a woman even half as beautiful as Catherine, remembering the last time he saw her, he would settle down, raise a family live a normal life. Sighing a moment over something that can never be, he joined his family. �Good morning Devin, said Vincent.� �Come join Catherine and I.� Seeing Devin Vincent felt the embarrassment going through Catherine a second before her cheeks turned a lovely shade of pink. �Good morning Vincent shaking his hand.� �Good morning Catherine giving her a hug before taking a seat.� After a few minutes of pleasant conversation Devin could see Catherine was uncomfortable with him being there. Everytime he would address her in the conversation, he noticed her cheeks would flush making her even more beautiful. Thinking, �did she know he saw them last night?�. Deciding to make her more comfortable, �Catherine Vincent last night when I arrived I saw you in the tunnel.� �I was not invading your privacy.� � I heard noises and well I went to investigate.� �I never expected to see the two of you as you were.� �What you two were doing was beautiful.� �Catherine if that flush in your cheeks is embarrassment knowing I saw you last night there is no reason for it.� �So many people including myself wish they could experience a love even half as powerful as what the two of you share.� �You love each other and what you were doing last night is a special part of that love.� �Never be ashamed of it or who may see it.� �Your passionate response to each other anyone would envy.� �Even I wish I could find someone I can experience that kind of love with.� �Now I will leave you lovebirds alone, I have to discuss something with father. �Enjoy your breakfast and your time together.� With that statement Devin left the table. �Catherine do you feel a little bit better now asked Vincent?� �Yes what Devin said did help.� �I was slightly embarrassed after he saw us last night but you knew that.� �What he said is true, we should never be embarrassed about making love or who may happen to stumble across us while we are.� �But my handsome hunk, placing a soft kiss upon his lips, we should be a little more careful as to where we do.� Smiling a moment he returned her soft kiss with his own, �I will try my sweet Catherine.� �I will try.� Hugging him she returned his smile �and I will as well Vincent.� �Good morning father.� �Devin how are you this morning?� �Did you sleep well last night?� �Actually I feel better than I have in a long time.� �I slept like baby for the first time in months.� �Son has it been rough on you over the past months?� �Well father going from place to place, getting close to someone only to have to leave again can be a trying experience.� �One I would not wish on any one.� �Devin why don�t you come home.� �We have missed you over the years.� �Especially Vincent.� �The few visits you have made only make us miss you more after you have gone.� �I was considering staying for a while this time.� �Maybe help out at home.� �I am sure with all the tunnel repairs you could use an extra hand.� �Not only that Devin, we really want you back home.� �Although you were about as mischievous as a boy can be we missed you terribly after you left.� �I understand that you wanted to explore, find out about the world Above and I cannot blame you I was there before.� �It almost destroyed me.� �When I found the tunnels it was a new beginning for me.� �Another chance at life and I will be forever grateful for it.� �There is no need to make a decision now, the wedding will not take place for two weeks.� �See how it is during that time and make your decision than.� �Father I did not want to say anything yet but I was considering coming home.� �I was going to use this time before the wedding to do some serious soul-searching to see what I really wanted in life.� �I have only been here for a few hours but I see that anything is possible.� �My little brother who missed out on so much being as he is, has found a woman to love him for all that he is.� �A woman who is giving up a life of luxury to live Below with the man that she loves.� A woman who has given him a child knowing that child could have had his difference, looking at the beautiful baby in Catherine�s arms, let�s me know there may still be hope for me.� �Only time will tell.� �Now enough of this talk about me.� �Tell me father what has been happening over the years other than the obvious, looking at Catherine, Vincent and baby Jacob a moment, before giving father his full attention.� Vincent looked across the hall at father and Devin they were having a nice conversation and he smiled. �Vincent you are smiling why?
