When Friendship Turns To Love Part 12 (pg-13) When Catherine, Vincent and baby Jacob returned to his chamber, they were greeted with the biggest welcoming committee his chamber would allow. Almost half of the community was waiting for them. Upon seeing them Vincent and Catherine smiled at each other, "Boy Vincent my love news does indeed travel fast in the tunnels. Nodding his head he gave her the biggest smile she has ever seen. She lightly caressed his down covered cheek, "Vincent you are even more beautiful when you smile." "I do believe you have dimples." Resting his hand on her tiny one and slightly lowering his head, "I never noticed." "My beauty cannot compare to yours my love." "You my love are even more beautiful as well." "Your smile can light an entire room." "Well are you ready to face the welcoming committee?" "With you next to me Vincent I can face anything." "As I can as well." Taking her hand they proceeded to the crowd." Everyone asked if the tunnel hero, heroine and the little one were all right?" Having the assurance that they were, they asked questions about how they destroyed the evil one. Despite the tiredness of their ordeal, Vincent and Catherine happily explained what happened. The community looked at Catherine in a new light. She had helped their hero make their world safe again. After a short time, father told everyone "Catherine, Vincent and the baby needed to rest now." " They can answer whatever questions you may have after they have rested." "We can see them in the morning. " Vincent gave his father a silent "thank you" look and they bid everyone goodnight. "Oh Vincent your family is so wonderful." "I love them so." Taking the sleeping baby from Catherine's arms Vincent laid him tenderly in his crib. "Yes my love they are and they love you even more after tonight." Lifting her in his arms he took a seat at his writing desk and placed her on his lap. "Taking her hand, "Catherine, I owe you so much." "Had you not been there, against my wishes he smiled a moment, I do not know what could have happened." "I do not know how to thank you." "Vincent you have saved me before, it was my turn to return the favor." "I love you with all my heart." "If I were to ever lose you, tears began to form in her eyes, I could no longer live." "You are my heart without you I could never go on." "Promise me you will never leave me?" "Oh Catherine that is one promise I will keep until my last breathe." He was in tears as well, "you are my world, my very existence." "I could not survive without you as well." Their lips met in a tender and loving kiss. Lifting his love in his arms once more, he carried her to the bed, where they loved, adored and cherished each other as if it was their last time. Each knowing had Paracelus had his way, it would have been. Baby Jacob woke up for his next feeding. His soft coo brought Catherine awake. She tenderly went to hug her Vincent and his side of the bed was empty. She panics a moment until she heard his wonderful voice. �I am here Catherine.� She turns toward him and smiles. He was holding their son in the big chair at his writing desk. �There you are.� �I did not mean to panic.� �I guess I am still a little frightened after our ordeal with Paracelus.� �It may take a little while but I am sure with your strength and love surrounding me it will pass quickly.� She went to get out of bed and he stopped her. �Stay my love and he brought the baby to her.� Pulling the sheet down, Vincent laid the baby at her breast. When be began to feed, Vincent joined her in bed. Holding her close in his arms, �Catherine you will have all the strength and love around you that I can give.� You never need to worry about being safe again.� "I know my love as long as I have you I can face whatever fear comes my way." With a contented sigh, Vincent takes is family in a tender embrace. "I love you my angel." "As I love you my hero." "No my sweet Catherine you were the heroine this time, placing a soft kiss upon her lips. She smiled at her love a moment before she spoke, we did it as one my love and we always will.
