The Power Of Love Part 10 (pg13) "So do we have here the man or the beast asked one of the men?� Hearing Vincent snarling and growling he said, �ha we have the beast.� �I should have killed you months ago freak and he aimed his gun at Vincent.� Vincent was just ready to attack when he heard a hissing sound. He turned his head slightly to the side but his eyes never left his prey. The men followed Vincent's lead as he hoped, a second later an arrow came sailing through the air hitting the man with the gun and it fell to the floor. It was the distraction Vincent needed. Hearing the growling, roaring, and screaming coming from down the tunnel Catherine knew Vincent was under attack, She had to help him and went to leave. Mouse qently grabbed her arm to stop her. She looked at her arm than at Mouse, � No can't go." "Catherine must stay safe for Vincent.� �Mouse please let me go.� �I have to help him.� Having used her last arrow Jamie returned there was nothing more she could do. �Catherine Mouse is right you must stay safe she said.� �Vincent is on his own now.� �He can take care of himself but if you are there his concentration may be limited.� �Catherine you have a baby and another one on the way you cannot put yourself in danger like that.� �They need you.� �Jamie, Mouse you don�t understand.� �I love my children and I would never want to endanger them.� Over a year ago Vincent sent me away.� �Being without him, I was an empty shell inside.� �Had it not been for baby Jacob I do not know what would have become of me.� Tears began to form in her eyes, �Vincent is my life without him I would be lost to myself once again..� " I love him and I have to be by his side no matter what.� �Mouse please let me go.� He looked at Jamie than and she nodded her head. Mouse let her go. �Thank you both for understanding and Catherine started running down the tunnel. �Be careful Catherine but she was already gone. Vincent felt Catherine approaching and he knew the danger she faced by coming to him. She could be hurt or killed. The thought of something happening to her enflamed the raging beast within him and his need to protect her always so he knew what he had to do and fast. Blinded by tears Catherine let the sounds be her guide. Arriving at the scene, no man was left standing and Vincent was on his knees. His head was back, eyes closed roaring and growling in the air lost in his darkside. She ran to him placing her arms firmly around his waist and pressed her chest against his back. �It�s over Vincent.� Catherine held him tightly in her slender arms rocking him gently against her breast, letting him feel all of her love for him within that embrace. �I love you.� As always Catherine�s love and the sweet sound of her voice calmed the raging side of his soul. Sighing he closed his eyes gaining control over his emotions. As he sat there safe in the shelter of her loving arms, he whispered, �Catherine I love you too.� �Thank you.� When Jamie Mouse and the men arrived they looked the sight before them a moment, it wasn�t pretty than they looked at Catherine and Vincent. Are you two all right asked Jamie?� �Vincent left the safe haven of Catherine�s love and stood up. Helping Catherine gently to her feet he placed his arm possessively around her waist, before he replied, we are both fine.� �Thank god said Jamie.� �Jamie thank you for the distraction.� �Don�t thank me Vincent we are family we help each other.� �I just wish I could have done more but that was my last arrow.� �Jamie you did more than enough stated Vincent.� �Mouse wish I did something.� �Catherine could see the sadden look in his eyes and left Vincent embrace to go to him. Mouse you did help.� �You were keeping me safe for Vincent remember?� �Yes but you got away and the sad look returned. Catherine glanced at Vincent, but he had already felt her need for assistance before she looked his way. Going to Mouse he patted him on his shoulder. �My friend you did help.� �Keeping Catherine safe as long as you did gave me enough time to do what had to be done. �Thank you.� Mouse smiled than �Mouse did help than.� OK good OK fine.� �Yes you did said Catherine.� Going to him she gave him a quick hug. �Thank you Mouse.� One of the men spoke than, �I hate to interrupt your moment of gratitude but we are pretty close to Paracelus� hideout right now and they may have heard what was going here.� �I hate this part of the tunnels anyway and I do not wish to stay here any longer than necessary. � �You can actually feel the evil here and it gives me the creeps.� �Yea me too replied the other man.� Vincent looked at Catherine a moment and acknowledged her silent thank you for helping her out with Mouse, than turned his attention to the men. �I know we are he stated.� �I felt his evil and the danger a while back.� �Shit man why didn�t you say something back than if you knew?� �Because I wanted to see if we could trust you to lead us to Paracelus and it seems like me can.� Both men nodded their heads in agreement you can trust us. �Hell I don�t know about him, referring to the other man as he looked around at the bodies scattered all over the cavern, but I would rather betray Paracelus than you.� Catherine spoke than, Vincent what do we do now?� �The sooner we do what we have to do the sooner we can make the tunnel our home again.� Vincent smiled at Catherine�s reference to the tunnel world as her home a moment before he replied. �We need to go a little deeper into the tunnels and find one that is well hidden.� �I have ventured here a few times there are a lot of them that are well concealed. �We can rest up for a little while and make our plans.� If these men have told us the truth and I hope for their sake they have, glaring at them a moment, there should only be a couple of men standing between us, Paracelus and Megan.� �Man we know what you are capable of, you can trust us there are only two more.� �Good replied Catherine.� �Hearing Megan�s name sent Catherine�s temper into a boil, Vincent felt it immediately. �Let�s go Vincent and seek shelter so we can make our plans.� �I can�t wait to get my hands on that witch.� �When I am done with her she will wish she never heard the name Catherine Chandler.� Vincent felt the determination in his lovely love before he saw the look on her beautiful face. Taking her hand, he said let�s go. As the five of them headed deeper into the tunnels to find shelter and set up their takeover, Paracelus and Megan had no clue what lay ahead for them.
