The Final Step to Love Part 4 (conclusion) Later that evening Vincent returned Below. He hated to leave Catherine and she didn't want him to go. "Well Catherine my love, how will I survive until tomorrow night without you in my arms?" "Vincent I know it will be hard for both of us." "I love you and she kissed his lips. Pulling her tighter against him, he said "I am so glad you came into my life." "Thank you for being the answer to my dreams." "I love you." After sharing a kiss that took their breath away, Vincent climbed over the balcony wall. All that week they did not see each other. There was a broken pipe in a lower tunnel and the men would be gone for about a week to repair it. At the office Catherine and Joe were given a really big case and she was kept busy. Finally at the end of the week Catherine had a free day and made a Dr's appointment with Peter. She hadn't been feeling well all week. Later that morning at Peter's office, "Catherine my dear you're pregnant." "Pregnant" Peter are you sure?" "Yes I am positive Catherine." "How can I tell Vincent?." "Peter he wants children and so do I but he may feel it is too soon." "Peter Vincent and I had unprotected sex the entire weekend." "We wanted it that way." "But I never thought I would get pregnant and Vincent probably didn't either." "Well kiddo you better tell Vincent as soon as possible." "Mary and father should know soon as well and of course, you'll have to move Below." "Yes Peter I know." "First things first I have to tell Vincent." By the time Catherine arrived at the tunnel entrance she was a little nervous as to what Vincent's reaction will be. " What if he isn't ready to become a father?" Knowing that she was on her way Vincent met her at the entrance. Taking her in his arms he gave her a big kiss and said "I have missed you so my love." "Come let us go to my chamber." When they got there, Catherine asked Vincent "to make love to her." "She needs him." Carrying her to the bed, he loved her as she asked. Later as he held her in his arms, he said, "what is troubling you so Catherine?" "I can feel your turmoil." "Please tell me what it is?" "Vincent something unexpected but wonderful has happened but I don't know how you will feel about it." "Catherine my angel, please tell me what it is?" Placing his hand gently upon her stomach, she said "Vincent our child is growing here." "Catherine are you telling me that you're pregnant?" "Yes Vincent I am." Taking her in his arms he said " Catherine it has been less than a week since we first made love are you sure?" "Yes I am." " I have already seen Peter." "Vincent you're going to be a father." "How do you feel about it?" Vincent did not answer. Instead he gently laid Catherine on her back and straddled her hips. Placing a soft kiss on her belly he joined them as one. The tender but possessive way he took her was unlike anything she had ever experienced. "I love you Catherine." "I must have you." "The other part of me craves you." "I must love and cherish your precious body." "Catherine I must protect you." "I have to lose myself within you while you carry my offspring our dream. "Oh my god Vincent!" was all Catherine could say before she was lost within his loving." Several hours later passion spent Vincent held Catherine in his arms. "Vincent" said Catherine "Yes my love." "What have you done to me?" "I have never felt this way before." "Vincent there are no words to describe how you just loved me." "Catherine my love as long as our child grows within your womb, I must love you as I have just done." "My unusual nature requires it." "Vincent are you telling me that I will be experiencing this type of love from you during my whole pregnancy?" "Yes Catherine you will." "However it could be more intense at times." Smiling at her love she said, more intense you say." " My my my what I have to look forward too." Suddenly Vincent had a serious look on his face and this concerned her. "Vincent what's wrong?" "Catherine do you remember that day in my chamber I was going to ask you something but father came in?" "Yes Vincent I remember." "Well Catherine I'll ask you now, , taking her hand , I love you with all my heart, I want a life with you and our baby." "Catherine will you marry me?" She accepted his marriage proposal with tears in her eyes. And they sealed their engagement by making love. A month later Catherine and Vincent were married.
