Shared Dream Part 14 She woke up in a dark room with a bright light shining in her eyes (exactly as it was in her dream). "Is any one there?" Trying lazily to sit up. No answer so she asked again, "is any one there?" "So you are awake now?" "I hope you had a pleasant rest?" asked the unfamiliar male voice. Trying to see past the blinding light, Catherine ask "who are you and why am I here?" "In due time, in due time." "We have a mutual acquaintance by the name of Vincent." "I know of no Vincent said Catherine." "Come now dear we both know him." "Kind of a unique individual wouldn't you say?" �What do you want, she asked again?� "Its simple, I want Vincent dead." Meanwhile in the upper tunnels, Vincent rushed to father's chamber, "have you seen Catherine he asked?" "No son why?" "Father I waited for her at the tunnel entrance for almost an hour. She never came." "Vincent maybe she stayed a little late at the office." "No father, I have a feeling something is wrong." "Your connection is telling you this Vincent?" "No she is blocking it for some reason. I cannot get through. I feel she is in danger father." "Vincent let me send a message to Peter. He can contact Joe. She is fine son. Try not to worry. (Knowing how much his son loves Catherine, he knows he will anyway). Pacing back and forth for, about a half-hour, Vincent finally received word from Peter. Mouse brought him the note. "Vincent Mouse has note for you." "Thank you Mouse." "Vincent everything all right?' You seem to worry." Patting Mouse on his back, Vincent said he will let him know in a few minutes and he began to read the note. "No it cannot be." Father and Mouse both asked, " what's wrong Vincent?" "Joe said Catherine left work early to come home. That was about three hours ago." "Vincent Catherine was here, I saw her said Mouse ." "Mouse, said Vincent, please tell me where you saw her and how long ago?" "Well let me think rubbing his head." "Mouse knows now, she entered same entrance she always does a long time ago." "She headed for your chamber. She did not see me." "Thank you my friend said Vincent wait here with father. "At least I know where to start looking" and he dashed from father's chamber. Looking around the chamber, he saw no sign that Catherine had returned. So he went back to see father. "Son did you find her?" "No she was not there nor do I think she was ever there." "Vincent how well does Catherine know these tunnels?" "Well father, she knows how to get from our chamber to the falls blindfolded. ""But I am not sure about from the outside tunnel entrance to our chamber." "She could be lost and father I cannot feel our connection to find her." "I think she is blocking it on purpose." "Vincent on earth would she do that asked father?" "Catherine did this once before." "She did not want me to come to her feeling it was too dangerous for me." "I found her anyway and I asked her to never block it again regardless of the danger to me." "So I do not understand why she would go against my wishes." "Father can we meet in the grand hall"? I think we need to start search parties to help find her?" "Good idea Vincent I will have Pascal send the message over the pipes to meet in the grand hall within thirty minutes." "Seeing the sad look in his eyes, he hugged his son, we will find her soon Vincent." In the lower tunnel Catherine was still trying to find out who had kidnapped her. "You seem to know about me but I do not know about you." "Who are you and why am I here?" "I have returned to claim what is rightfully mind." "These tunnels belong to me." �I came to get them back.� �No one will stand in my way especially your Vincent.� �That is why you are here." "He is the only one who can keep me from reclaiming my world and you will lure him right where I want him.� � Once he is destroyed the tunnels will be mine and he began to laugh." �Oh my god I know who you are, said Catherine, you�re Paracelsus." �Great assumption he said.� �Vincent has chosen well.� �Not only are you beautiful you are a very bright woman.� �Now you rest it is time for me to continue my plan.� �Everyone except Pascal met in the grand hall. He was needed to man the pipes in case Catherine sent a message. �Listen everyone said father.� �Catherine cannot be found.� �Vincent thinks she may have wondered too far into the tunnels and gotten lost.� �I think if we pair off in groups of three, we can successfully look for her.� One tunnel dweller asked Vincent �what about your Bond with Catherine, can it help?� No Kanin I am afraid Catherine has blocked it from me.� �I cannot explain why but I feel she is in danger and I would like everyone�s help.� �Of course we will help Vincent shouted the crowd.� Everyone is to met back here within two hours.� �Hopefully with Catherine.� �Before the crowd could dismiss, Pascal enterd the hall out of breath. Panting he said �Vincent I have a message for you.� �What is the message asked Vincent?� Handing him the note Pascal said �you had better read it yourself.� Unfolding the note Vincent read its contents and let out an astounding roar. �Son what has upset you so asked father?� �Is it about Catherine?� �Yes father, anger in his voice, it seems an old enemy has returned.� �Paracelsus has Catherine and he handed father the note.
