Shared Dreams                                   Part 10

Returning to the livingroom, Catherine was smiling and said" all done". " Now let me wash and change so I can fix breakfast".  "Vincent while I am gone why not look for a book we can read after we eat. " "There is a bookcase in the diningroom".

"Anything in particular you wish to read Catherine?.

"Ill let you decide on the book."  "Ill be back soon and she went into the bedroom".

When she returned she went to the kitchen to start breakfast.  "How do French toast, sausage and orange juice sound.?

"Sounds fine Catherine." " Do you need any help?"

"Well that depends on how well you cook".

"I am not William Catherine, but I have cooked on a few occasions."

"Great."  Handing him the mixing bowl she said, you can start breaking the eggs."

They enjoyed making breakfast together. After losing two eggs, to Vincent's fancy way of breaking them, their meal turned out good.  When they had cleaned the kitchen, Vincent took her hand and led her to the livingroom. Taking a seat on the couch he placed her on his lap.

Grabbing the book, she said you chose poems by Sara Teasdale.  This is one of my favorite books of poetry.  Let us take turns reading.  Opening the book Catherine began to read  House of Dreams.

You took my empty dreams
   And filled them every one
With tenderness and nobleness,
   April and the sun.

The old empty dreams
   Where my thoughts would throng
Are far too full of happiness
   To even hold a song.

Oh, the empty dreams were dim
And the empty dreams were wide,
They were sweet and shadowy houses
   Where my thoughts could hide.

But you took my dreams away
And you made them all come true --
My thoughts have no place now to play,
   And nothing now to do.

"Vincent that was lovely." " You have such a way of reading." "It is almost as if you were born to read classic literature".

"Catherine you read wonderfully yourself."  Taking the book from her hands, he asked "if she would mind reading a little later there was something else he  would rather do."

Giving him a teasing smile as she lightly caressed his chest she said, so my love what would you rather do?

Returning her smile, he began to  kiss her neck and quite a few other places.  The  book of poetry was  forgotten for now.
