An hour and a half later Vincent as still carrying Catherine in his arms on their journey home.  They both wanted to talk about what happened the last night they were together.  Now was not the time. They had to get back to the city before dawn.

When Vincent finally stopped walking they were halfway to the city.  He sat Catherine gently on her feet.  She had tried to tell him carrying her was not necessary.  He said it was a long journey back and she would tire quicker than he. She noticed even after carrying her as long as he had he was not even winded.  His strength and stamina was amazing.  She could picture how he would be when they finally made love.  Just thinking of it heated her body. She blushed. She hoped Vincent did not notice.

He did but did not mention it.  He knew that if his dreams were anything like the real thing, when they did make love he knew he would never want to stop.  His thoughts heated his body as well.  "Catherine when we get back will you come Below with me?"

"Yes Vincent I would like that very much."  "I was hoping you would asked me too."
With that settled, Vincent lifted her in his arms once more and they resumed their journey.

Having reached the subway station that would take them home, Catherine rode inside the subway car; Vincent rode on top.  Catherine was nervous about him being up there the entire time.  She was relieved when the train finally stopped.

Just at dawn they reached the park leading to the world Below.  He placed Catherine on her feet and they walked hand in hand the rest of the way there.  Both were glad to be home.

They stopped by father's chamber to let him know they were back safe and sound. Peter was there as well
When they entered father's chamber he went to them and hugged them  "I have never been so happy to see two people in my entire life."  "Catherine are you all right?"

"Yes father, she looked up at Vincent, thanks to this beautiful man whom I love with all my heart." Than she looked back at father,  "I owe him my life."

Peter hugged her than, "Cathy dear I am so glad to see you back and safe." "We were so worried about you." He shooked Vincent's hand, "thank you for bringing our girl back to us."

"Vincent nodded his head. "I told everyone I would bring her back and I did."

"Yes Vincent you did."  "Now I better get going."  "I can sleep in peace now knowing Cathy is safe here with you."  I could use a couple of hours  before my rounds tomorrow."  "Goodnight everyone."

"Oh Peter since I am staying here tonight can you do me a favor?"

"Sure dear what is it?"

"Can you report my cell phone stolen when he get home?"

"Of course I can?"  "What happened to it?"

"Steven took it from me."  "Vincent and I did not have time to look for it before we left."

"I'll will take care of it for you?"

"Thanks Peter and she kissed his cheek."

"What happened to Steven asked father?"

Squeezing Vincent's hand, Catherine replied, "he fell out of a  window."  "He did not survive the fall." "I called "911" from the first phone booth we came across on our way home."  "I am sure he has been found."

Vincent felt the conversation was bothering Catherine so he told father and Peter, they were going to go to his chamber they were both tried.

"You would have to be, stated father.  "I will you see both later on."

They said goodnight to father and Peter and left the chamber.

As soon as they reached his chamber, Vincent took Catherine in his arms and hugged her.  "Oh Catherine I love you so." "If Steven would have hurt you.  "It is all right Vincent."  "He didn't and it is over."  Hugging him back, "I love you so much."

Vincent released her a little.  He felt her exhaustion and asked, "If she wanted to wash up and change before she went to bed?"  "There was a hot spring not to far from here."

"That would be wonderful and thank you for suggesting it." "I have nothing to sleep in though."

"I think I can find you something and he went to his dresser."  Opening the bottom drawer, he removed the tunnel dress she wore when she stayed Below after her attack, and handed it to her.

"Oh Vincent you kept it and she took it from him."

Smiling at her, "I could not part with it."

Returning his smile "I am glad you didn't."  "Will you come with me Vincent?"

"Yes Catherine I will come with you."  "He went to his dresser and pulled out a clean nightshirt and thermo underwear. He laid them on the bed for when he got back.  Catherine gently laid her tunnel dress next to his nightclothes.  Grabbing  towels, washcloths, and soap they headed for the hot springs.  At the exit to Vincent's chamber Catherine looked back at his bed a moment.  Seeing their nightclothes lying side by side, she smiled thinking this is how it should be.  Vincent read her thoughts and said "yes it should."  She looked at him than and the longing in her lovely gray green eyes tugged at his heart. "Come Catherine my love we will talk at the hot springs."  "I would like that Vincent and they left his chamber."

When they arrived at the hot springs Vincent told Catherine there was a little room to the left where she could change and he would change out there.  She told him that was all right she could change here as well and began to remove her clothes. As Catherine stood before him naked, her beauty mesmerized him.  She called him twice before she got his attention.  "Vincent aren't you going to undress as well?"

Stammering "yes Catherine but I would rather not do so in front of you."  "I do not wish to frighten you."

"Frighten me?" "Why on earth would you say that?"  "If you are as beautiful as I think you are, fear would be the farest thing from my mind."  "Besides I have already seen some of you and believe me I was quite impressed."  "So what are you waiting for strip."

"Vincent could not help but smile and began to remove his clothes.  When he stood naked before her, his head was down not wishing to see her reaction to his differences.  She went over to him.  Wrapping her arms around his neck, she whispered in his ear, "your even more beautiful naked."  When she felt the warmness of a tear roll down her back, she lifted her head to look into his eyes. "I love all of you Vincent."  She knew how vulnerable he could be at times so she tried to make him more comfortable. Gently wiping the tears from his eyes, she said, "come my love, taking his hand, I am dying to get into the hot springs."  He smiled at her understanding and let her lead the way.
