Another Step Closer To Love Part 3 "Mouse we're here" said Vincent. "Vincent, Catherine good ok fine I found you." "Yes Mouse you did." "We were on our way back from visiting Elizabeth and her paintings to go see father." "Ok I will walk back with you to my chamber", said Mouse. As they walked Mouse said, "Catherine Elizabeth's paintings good." "Yes Mouse they are.' "She paints beautifully." When they arrived at Mouse's chamber, "he said he would see them later and to tell father he found them." Together they said "see you goodbye." "Catherine I am sorry about the interruption but than again I am not." ""I felt myself losing control back there and I was not ready." "There is no need to apologize sweetheart," said Catherine. "The day will come when you do and I will be ready." "Vincent why doesn't father want us alone?' "He feels it might be dangerous Catherine." "He's afraid if we get too close I could hurt you." "I have that fear as well." "If I ever hurt you Catherine I could not longer live with myself." "How can either of you think that Vincent?" "You could never hurt me." "Catherine we do not know for sure and I will not risk it." Blocking her thoughts from Vincent, she realized that father had a lot to do with the fear instilled in him. He is definitely overprotective. Somehow I will get Vincent to see that his fear is not warranted so we can truly be together. When father saw them, "there you two are." ''I was a little concerned about you son so I sent Mouse to look for you." "Well he found us" said Vincent "and we were all ready on our way here." "Catherine did you enjoy the painted tunnels?" asked father Smiling she said, " yes I enjoyed the tunnels very much". Looking at Vincent "I didn't realize how beautiful it could be there (Vincent knew she was referring to their shared kisses). "Yes Catherine it was beautiful there," said Vincent. "Looking over top of his glasses he said, "son why do I get the feeling you two are not talking about the paintings?" "Now father" said Vincent "what would give you that idea?" "Maybe I was mistaken". "Anyway here take a look at this medical journal" and he placed it in front of Vincent. Looking one last time at Catherine, he gave his attention to father. While they reviewed father's journal, Catherine wandered around looking at the various books he had on his shelves. There were dozens of medical journals like the one they had now and dozens of books by famous authors like Shakespeare. Now she realized why Vincent was so well versed. He has the most popular of English literature right at his fingertips to read at his leisure. She went to one shelf and pulled down a book on Sonnets and began to read. She was so lost in reading she did not realize Vincent had called her until she felt the book taken from her hand. Vincent turned the book so he could see what she was reading. "I always loved this book Catherine." "If you wish to, we can read this later in my chamber. "Vincent I would like that very much" and she smiled at him. "Well you know Catherine my chamber is always open". " Why don't you and Vincent come here after dinner and read the book." "I won't mind." "Thanks for the offer father but Vincent and I prefer to read in his chamber." "All right if that is what you prefer." "I'll just stop by later to see how the reading is coming along." And he left the chamber before either of them had a chance to comment on his words. "Vincent your father is very determined to keep up from being alone". "But I can be just as determined to make sure we are alone." Wrapping her arms around his neck she placed a kiss upon his lips. Placing his arms around Catherine's waist he pulled her close and said "I want to be alone with you right now so let's go to my chamber and wait for dinner."
