The Flin Flon Station Museum is housed in the former local train station that was owned and operated by the Canadian National Railway Co. from 1935 until 1983.
The Flin Flon & District Chamber of Commerce purchased the building in 1983 and moved it from the downtown area to it's present location by the junction of highways #10 & 10a at the entrance to Flin Flon.
The building was revitalized to house the artifacts of the original museum that was founded by "Red" McIntosh.
The Museum has captured a sense of the important role that industry has played in shaping this community.
Exhibitions show some of the challenges face by the pioneers in developing the area for mineral extraction.
Even though the Museum has an extensive collection of industrial artifacts it has not forgotten the people who settled the community.
Many artifacts are on display to show how the early citizens lived, worked and played!
While Flin Flon is noted for mining and a strong hockey tradition we are also a community that was founded by peoples of different ethnic backgrounds and cultures .
We are proud of our heritage and the Museum will endeavor to preserve much of the artifacts from it to be placed on display for all to enjoy.
We hope that you have an opportunity to visit the museum in person or please return to our website as we intend to keep updating our pictures.
