Edgar
and Sabin, twin brothers and princes of the kingdom of Figaro, watch their
father slowly succumbing to illness. Both at the tender age of 17, they had
already lost their mother some years ago. When the mournful night comes that
their father slips away, Sabin is enraged, for all anyone seems to be concerned
with is who will become the successor. Upon the king's dying breath he muttered
that he wished for the realm to be divided between the brothers, but Sabin will
hear none of it. To him, this is grotesque. He wants out...but someone must stay
and rule Figaro. Edgar strikes him a deal.
The flip of a coin will decide fate,
with no regrets. The person who calls the winning side will take their
freedom...
When Sabin won, he left...and was not
seen again...until...
Ten years later...Edgar, Locke, and Terra
are making their way over Mt. Koltz to the hidden base of the Returners. They
happen upon where Duncan, a famous martial arts instructor, had taken a group of
students for some intensive training...and Edgar is reunited with his brother as
Sabin was Duncan's best student. Both boys are men now...one a strong fighter,
the other a strong ruler, both of honor and now members of the Returners.
