%%entry%% How to tell when you should stop teaching and seek a new career
28 May, 2006 :: 1:40 p.m.
If these sgins appear when you are teaching the class, you have failed as a teacher, and it's time to seek a career change.
1. When you ask the class who didn't do their homework, more than 3/4 of the class raises their hand.
2. When you ask the class why they didn't do their homework, you get replies such as:
-Since I don't listen in your class, I don't know what the homework is.
-I don't like your face.
-I don't feel like doing your homework.
3. When you start screaming at the class, the class starts laughing at you because they think you are stupid.
4. When you attempt to use stronger words such as "bloody", the class calls you a bloody teacher with bloody homework and bloody lessons. And whenever you enter the class subsequently, you keep hearing the word bloody because the class is mocking you.
5. When you say angrily, "FINE! Do it yourself, I'm not going to help you with your homework. And you better make sure you hand it in to my by 12pm today!" The class just ignores you and continue doing their own things, e.g. talk. And at 12, you find out that 1/2 the class didnt hand in your work, 1/4 handed in blank books and only 1/4 did more than half of the work you asked them to do.
I LOVE MY CLASS!
My Result Slip Comments; interpreted
28 May, 2006 :: 1:07 p.m.
I just got back my result slip not to long ago. Can't say I'm very happy with it. Anyway, I realized the comments were filled with the usual sentences, the teachers cannot think of new things to say about us. They just use the same lines on every student every year. So I've decided to give you the real meaning of the crap they write every year.
She is a friendly and pleasant pupil. She gets along well with her classmates.
The real meaning: Shit, I cannot think of anything to write. I better write something nice. How would I know if she's friendly or not, I'm an old lady who lost touch with what's going on in the world already. Let's just assume she's friendly. Yes, and the usual word, "pleasent" which I write in everyone's comments because I'm too lazy to think of new words.
She needs to be more focused to understand difficult concepts better.
The real meaning: STOP sleeping in my class. I dont care how boring it is!
