NEW HAVEN - The week 10 New Haven Ghetto Thugs New York Mets Underachiever of the Week Award was presented to tight end Shannon Sharpe this morning. Sharpe added 1 point in the Ghetto Thugs' loss. The award was presented by former Met Darryl Strawberry who said, "Man, a week like this makes ya wanna snort some nose candy. Anybody have any?" Strawberry was last seen wandering down State Street, stopping and questioning passing motorists. Many had predicted newly acquired wide receiver Koren Robinson would earn the award, but instead he contributed an adequate 11 points. Many around the league were shocked as to the accuracy of G-Thugs Coach Stanley's prediction of the 220 - 214 loss to the Virginia Colony Dogs. Last week Stanley had said "...we have Virginia next week, who put up 118 points this week. You know that means that they'll put up twice that next week. And the way our season's been going, I bet they do, and we put up 235." Others around the league just laughed. This morning's press conference was filled with more cursing than a South Park movie and only allowed for the following fragments to be published: "...214...franchise high...220...would have won...bent over...schedule again...next week...UJB...what the hell...worked for Bengals...predict win..."
