Interview #6

Hey Dawgs! Here yet another interview! This time I talked with the QB himself, Ben Cunningham (10)!

Kristen Carrier: “Ok, here we go. What made you become interested in football?”

Ben Cunningham: “Well, the passion for the game has always been there. Freshman year I decided to try it out, and I liked it, so it stuck.”

KC: “That’s cool. Did you choose your jersey number, and if so was there a special reason for your choice?”

BC: “I used to be number 13, but freshman year they didn’t have it. So, I chose number 10 because it was available.”

KC: “That makes sense. Looking back on this past season, what would you say were some of the challenges you faced both as an individual and as a team?”

BC: “Well, in the beginning of the year, we had some people hurt and sick, so our success was limited, but we played through and have had a great productive year.”

KC: “You’re telling me! I can’t believe how far you guys have come this season! The teamwork you guys show amazes me! What were some of the team’s greatest victories in your opinion, and what do you think was the reason we won?”

BC: “I think Salmen and Slidell, although Carver and St. Paul’s were equally important, and we won because we were the hardest workers.”

KC: “Yeah, I still don’t know how you guys handle all that. What would you say was the most memorable moment this season for both you and your teammates?”

BC: “I think the dominating first half against Carver was huge.”

KC: “Sure was. I couldn’t believe how many penalties they got, and all on unsportsmanlike conduct! I think they were the most disrespectful out of all the teams we've played. Now here's an interesting one. What are some of the funniest memories that you can recall?”

BC: “Probably when Bryan Elliser dressed up as Coach Materne for Halloween.”

KC: (laughs) “That's the funniest one I've heard yet! Ok, it’s about time to wrap it up. It must be difficult to deal with schoolwork, practices, games, etc. all at the same time. How do you do it?”

BC: “An intense concentration and passion for the game.”

KC: “I'm gonna quote you on that. That was a great answer. Ok, last one. What do you do for fun when you're not playing football?”

BC: “Play X-Box with Mike.”

KC: (laughs) “Sounds great. I think I’ll quote that one too. Well, thanks for your time. I appreciate it.”

Well, that’s it for this one! I’ll be back soon with more! Thanks again, Ben!
