Interview # 3
Hey Bulldog Fans! I'm
back again with yet another player interview! This time around, I talked
with Darren Domingue (31), a senior who plays linebacker on our team.
Kristen Carrier: "Hey Darren. Thanks for taking the time to answer a few
questions for us. When and why did you start playing?"
Darren Domingue: "I've been playing since I was 7. My inspiration came
from my dad, who was a coach, and my brother, who played."
KC: "That's cool. Kind of like Steven. He also told me that his
inspiration was from his dad. Did you choose your jersey number? If so,
was there a special reason behind your choice?"
DD: "I was always number 33 because that was my brother's number when he
played for FHS, and it was also my cousin's college number. Now, I'm
number 31 because that was my number for freshman year on varsity."
KC: "Yeah, Blake's got a
similar story. 7 was his dad's number. What is the worst injury you've
ever suffered?"
DD: "I blew out my knee at practice mid senior year, which held me back. I
was blocking a punt."
KC: "Can't say I know how that one feels. Sounds painful. What are some of
the challenges you faced both as an individual and as a team, and how did
you overcome them?"
DD: "The hardest thing is putting the team over yourself, and putting the
team first because as humans, we tend to look out for ourselves."
KC: "Very true. I never looked at it that way before. What was the most
memorable moment for you this season?"
DD: "Beating the s--- out of Mandeville for homecoming."
KC: "Nuff said. (laughs) What are some of the funniest memories that you
can recall, and will you please describe them?"
DD: "My memories are mostly just hanging out with the guys. I can't really
give any details."
KC: "That's ok. In your opinion, what were some of the team's greatest
victories, and what do you think was the reason we won?"
DD: "I think our greatest victories were against Salmen, Mandeville, and
Northshore, and we won because offense and defense came together."
KC: "Well, that certainly makes sense. The teamwork I've seen you guys
show amazes me. What were some of the saddest memories for both you and
your teammates?"
DD: "Probably the Slidell game and knowing that we will never play ball
again."
KC: "Yeah, I can imagine that feeling. It's hard to say goodbye to
something you love. On a happier note, what do you do for fun when you're
not playing football?"
DD: "Party hard."
KC: "Again, nuff said. (laughs) Well, thanks Darren. I appreciate it."
That's it for now, bulldog fans. I'm getting as many as I can, so check
back soon!
Thanks again, Darren!
