This fire was reported on September 19, 2000 at 16:00 hours. There was 34 firefighters and fire equipment from the Simpsonville VFD with 2 brush trucks, the Bettie VFD with 1 brush truck and 1 tanker, 2 dozer crews from the Texas Forest Service, 1 helicopter from the Texas Forest Service, and the Harmony VFD with 2 brush trucks. The fire was small in acreage 2 acres, but high in cost as it burned a burn with a new bass boat inside. It took 2 hours to bring under control and 2 more hours to extinguish. |
