These are the amp pictures I spoke of!
These are the amps I had for about 20 years that I sold or traded at a Dallas guitar show to get the '65 Bassman and 1999 Les Paul pictured below. The Blonde Bassman is a '63 and was painted Black and had a gray grille cloth when I found it in 1978. I found the material in early 1999 and recovered it as pictured.
This is how the old '65 Bassman looked in the studio after I recovered it.
This is the $3,999 Les Paul for which I traded the Brown Deluxe amp and the Blonde Bassman at the Dallas guitar show. I got $2,100 for the Brown Vibroverb and then bought the Black '65 Bassman that I later recovered.
I met Rick Derringer at that guitar show and he told me that the guitar he played on the cover of his album, "All American Boy", was actually the same guitar that had belonged to me before I sold it to Johnny Winter. Rick had borrowed it for the photo shoot. Rick said that the guitar was now hanging in a club in Chicago and was valued at $80,000.00.
That was the second guitar I sold to Johnny Winter. The first was a gray 1962 Telecaster. I don't have a picture of that one.
