LOCATION: Bataan Province LEVEL: Level II, Minor Climb, Moderate ELEVATION: 1,253 meters above sea level JUMP-OFF POINT: Barangay Tala, Orani, Bataan UNIQUE CHARACTERISTICS: 360 degrees view of Bataan from the peak
HOW TO GET THERE The jump-off point is in Barangay Tala in Orani. Actually, there are two ways to get there, one is via the bus and the other is by ferry boat. We took the second option. Take the ferry in PICC. It will take an hour before you arrive in Lamao, Bataan. From Lamao, take a tricycle or a jeepney going to Balanga. From the Balanga terminal, take a jeepney going to Orani. Then along the Orani town plaza, take a tricycle and ask the driver to take you to the the jeepney terminal bound for Barangay Tala. The jeepney will usually take you up to the jump-off point near the DENR marker. FOLLOW THE WIDE TRAIL EVEN THOUGH IT IS BLOCKED BY WOODEN POLES. Just move and place it back. "Pinagbutasan"(a waist high wall) can be reached 45 mins to 1 hour from the DENR marker. Then an hour more of trek before reaching the last settlement in the area. This is also the last water source along the way. An overnight stay will be optional here. From there you can reach the open field for another hour. Please don't continue your trek forward when you're in this area. Look for a small trail to your left, this marks the start of a new forest line for the steep climb. One of the most difficult part in this area is overcoming a big boulder along the way.On the peak, you will find another DENR marker.
**Please take note also that the area is Limatik infested. So take some necessary preparations.
