You'll have to fight this guy near the end of Disc 2. At the Midgar coastline, engage combat. To put it shortly, use your strongest limit breaks and summons against him, and if you have the KOTR summon, use it once for a quick kill. If you don't, make sure that you have Life2 and plenty of X-Potions.
