Assault on Mako Reactor No. 1

      After the beginning cinema with the train, have Cloud check the soldiers to pick up a few potions. Now follow the team into the reactor and speak to Biggs and Jessie to open the locked doors. Then, hit the button inside the elevator to go down. Follow Jessie until she stops, making sure that you pick up the Potion. Continue down the ladder and over the pipes. Make sure that you save it while you can! Now continue on down the catwalk, making sure that you pick up the Restore Materia. Cloud will plant the explosives, which alarms your first boss, the Guard Scorpion!
(Check the Boss section for the battle tip for this cookie.) Now you have a ten minute time limit to get out before the reactor explodes. Make haste, and be sure to help Jessie get her foot unstuck. Once back to the security doors, talk to Biggs and Jessie again, picking up the Phoenix Down if you forgot to pick it up before. You might want to use any access time to fight enemies to gain levels. When ready, leave and watch the reactor blow up.



The Getaway 

After leaving the reactor, follow Barret off to the main street, where you'll meet a flower girl. Take some time to talk to her and by a flower (Come on, it's only 1 gil.) After talking, follow her off the screen. Grab the potion as you move southward and into the next area. Trouble! Shinra guards are approaching. You can either fight them or run. Fight for the experience, though, anyway. They aren't much of a threat. After you're finished with them, jump onto the train and get off towards the Sector 7 slums.


Sector 7 Slums

Catch up with everyone else over at Tifas bar. Speak with everyone and learn about your next mission. Take your payment that Barret gives you and visit a few of the local shops. First off, visit the Weapons shop. Buy some Iron Bangles and sell off the Bronze ones. Go upstairs to the Beginner's Hall and pick up the All Materia that is sitting next to the guy. Speak with people if you'd like to learn about things in the game. Buy some new Materia and epuip a Restore and a All in the same connected slots. Make sure that you get a Fire Materia. Perhaps buy a new Lightning Materia if you have the cash and move on. Save your game and then hop back on the train!


Raid on the Sector 5 Reactor

Talk to Tifa in the train, and an alarm will sound, because Shinra moved the checkpoint. You will have fifteen seconds to move from car to car to avoid getting locked in. If you have the time and quick fingers, speak with the guy in the back of the first car to receive a Pheonix Down. In the second car, the guy closest to the front of the car will give you a Hi-Potion. Try not to let the guy going past you steal any money. Finally, in the fifth car, talk to Tifa and then jump out. Go down the tunnel until you are stopped by a security beam. Go down the hole. Everything should look familiar. Slide down the pole and then head to the reactor core (it'll be the same as the first reactor.) Set the bomb and then quickly head for the exit (the same as the first reactor.) To open the door, here, the team needs to press the three buttons all at once. Count to about three and then press Enter. Save your game, and then build up your levels before the next boss fight. When you're ready, go down the stairs and across the catwalk until you are cut off by Shinra soldiers. You'll talk with the President, and then be attacked by the boss, Air Buster! (Once again, see the Boss section for the strategy.) Cloud will then fall from the hole created by the explosion.


Sector 5 Slums

Cloud will awaken to find the flower girl from before being harrassed by Shinra's Turks. Once the chase begins, head to the back of the church and go up the stairs. She is soon cut off by the soldier's shooting and falls to the floor. You will then have the chance to fight, run, or hold on a minute the Shinra soldiers. I'd choose fight for the experience, but you don't have to. If you choose hold on a second, you will have the chance to push one barrel off the rafters above and onto the soldiers. Once Aeris reaches you, proceed to the opening up in the rafters and exit. Jump across the junk piles until you reach the ground. Head into the lighted section and talk to everyone before heading to the northeast corner of the screen to Aeris's house. Oh, you might want to visit the sleeping boy in the house on the east side of the slums. he'll mention something about five gil in his dresser. Don't take it, because you'll get something in return later. Save your game at Aeris's house and then head into the garden for a Cover Materia and an ether. You'll meet her mother, and then be asked to spend the night. Her mother asks you to leave during the night without letting her daughter know. Walk slowly down the stairs and get outside. You'll be surprised when she meets you at the doorway to Sector 6.


Sector 6

At this sector, go up the wooden plank bridge that you'll see to the right. Go across the metal piece with holes in it and then go down the twisted piece of a crane. Through the area until you reach a crane. Go to the right and walk on the pole until you reach the top. Go down the stairs and exit to the north. You'll wind up in a small playground that Aeris remembers. Before long, a cart appears, and Tifa is on the back of it! Follow the cart to the town of Wall Market.


Wall Market


Go to the southeast corner and talk to the guys near the honeybee inn. You'll learn that Tifa has an interview from Don Corneo, the boss of the slums. Well, nothing to do but head north towards the mansion itself and speak with the guard outside. You find out that only girls are allowed in. Now what? First of all, head to the dress shop near the north corner of the first screen that you entered. Speak with the lady behind the counter. She will be willing to get a dress if Cloud can talk her father into returning to the shop. Go to the bar in the second screen and speak with the lone man near the door. He's happy to get the dress, but he needs to know what kind. If you choose "soft" and "shimmers", you'll receive the best dress, the Silk Dress. "Clean" and "shiny/shimmers" will get you the Cotton dress. Choosing "soft" and shiny" gets you the Satin Dress. Now, you need to get a wig. Go to the big gym in the second screen and talk to big bro. You'll need to defeat one of the macho-guys there by tapping Del, Ins, and Enter in that order. Practice first, and then start the competition. He should be pretty easy to beat if you don't mess up. You'll receive the blonde wig if you win. If you tie, you still get the Dyed Wig, and the Wig for a loss. Now, you have two options. You can either get changed and go to Corneo's, or you can run around and get more items. For the cologne, talk to the lady in the bathroom at the bar. Then, go to the restaurant and buy a meal. Make sure you give a good compliment, and you'll receive the Pharmacy coupon. Go to the pharmacy and hand over the coupon. Grab the Digestive and bring it to the lady for some sexy cologne. Now, for the Tiara. Go to the house up by where some guys cooking on a grill and talk with him. Go to the hotel then and spend the night. Buy the 200 gil stuff and bring it back to the guy. In return, you get the diamond tiara. Now, for the hardest thing, go to the guy walking around in the southeast corner. he'll hand over the member's card. Now, go to the honey bee inn and enter. Talk to the bee in the middle and pick your door. Go to the &$#% room and pick up the lingerie. Now go to the north room and get some makeup applied. You're all set for a night with the Don! Go change and then head up to the mansion.
Get's rejected
If rejected, Cloud is taken to a side room as a reward for Corneo's crew. Get the items and then talk to the guys that are chasing you, and then the other one guarding the door.  Talk to Scotch and then get into a fight! After kicking butt, go and get the other rejected one before heading in to the Don's room. Speak with him and then fall into the pit below!
Get's chosen
If Cloud gets chosen as Corneo's friend for the night. Tifa and Aeris come in, and together they force the Don to say everything he knows. After all is said and done, the Don himself asks you a question. No matter what, you fall into the sewers below.


The Sewers and the Train Graveyard

Epuip yourselves well, because there's a boss fight coming, and you can't save before it. Speak with everyone and then let Aps attack. After defeating him, go up the ladder and around the walkway. Go down back into the sewage and then up the stairs. Pick up the Steal Materia and then jump into the hole. Climb up the next ladder into a section where there are lots and lots of trains everywhere. Search around for items, and look in the barrels for some nice surprises. After going over and through the trains, make your way into the next section. Roam around this section for an Eligor. Steal the Striking Staff for Aeris from him. Now, jump into the first boxcar and ride it a few yards, pushing another of the engines with it. Climb into the second one and move it up. This will create a type of bridge over to the sidewalk leading into Sector 7.


The Pillar Assault

Your team will reach the pillar right in time to fight Shinra. Tifa and Cloud must now scale the tower to come to Barret's aid. On your way up, take some time to say a few dying words to the members of Avalanche. Talk to Barret once you reach the top and epuip him with his best gun and armor. You'll meet Reno again, but this time you'll fight!


Aftermath

After escaping, the team comes to rest at the playground. Head towards Aeris's house, and be sure to pick up the Sense Materia that's lying around. At Aeris's house, you'll get a brief history of what's happened with Shinra and the flower girl so far. Rest upstairs, and when you're ready, head to Wall Market. Go to the man in the weapons shop once you're there and buy the Zinc Batteries from him. Now go up to where the Don's mansion is, and follow the kids off-screen.


Going up?

After climbing the wire, you'll find yourself in a maze of old junk. Place on of the batteries that you got in the glowing yellow thing, which causes the helicopter propeller to move. Once it comes to a rest, climb up it and then place another battery into the guard rail to make it raise up. Run up until you reach a swinging bar. The trick is to jump on it when it isn't to close or too far. Wait until it's almost to the left area to jump on. The third socket is optional. You'll get an ether, but you'll also have to face the wire again. Continue climbing from that point, and you'll reach Shinra HQ.


Shinra's Headquarters

Save your game before doing anything. Now, you can either take the stairs or bust in the front. Taking the stairs takes a while, but there won't be any encounters, and you pick up an elixir. Going in the front is a little more tricky.
