Welcome back to the Shamika Server News Page. We have upgraded the server again this time we are running a DFI mb, AMD K6-2 500mhz processor, 128 megs of pc100 ram, 17.3g hd, Voodoo3 3000 AGP w/TV out, SBLive Value, 2 SMC 10mb combo ethernet cards, Pioneer 10x/40x DVD/CdRom, Logitech cordless keyboard and mouse, all this in a mini case w/250W PS. This setup sits in my entertainment center and is connected to the 27inch TV and the 600W surround sound system. (This is why from time to time Shamika may not be up. I'm watching a DVD movie and boy does it rock now that I got the bugs worked out. Just ask Ranxerox he's the one controling the volume!@:-])
The server seems to be popular. There are many return players and its fun to play against returns becouse it helps me see if I'm getting any better. I've run some trace routes to and from a buddies machine who now has ADSL from BellSouth. His ping average is 450+ there is a machine that is killing our ping rate. This one machine is adding 200ms-350ms. The @home network seems to fly and the BellSouth network also seems to be rocking. The problem is where we enter the internet environment. Oh well can't do any thing about that.
If you haven't noticed we have a new clan member. He's a little spastic when he plays but don't take him to lightly because you will find yourself being handed your head. Welcome SPASTIC_COLON !!!!!
I will be starting on the members page soon Fester already has his Bio page up and I will be bringing mine up soon as well as maddog's and scooby-doo's.
We are running the Bonus Pac and if you have a relic you would like on the server or would like to see the server run without relics for a while just e-mail me from the link on the server page. Thats all for now till next time,

The Shamika Server has been up and running for a week now. In this first week we are ranked in the top 100 for weekly servers and in the top 600 for this quarter. Not bad for the amount of time up. If you have played on the server lately you should have noticed that Shamika is now playing and having as much fun as we are. WARNING-Just because you might be a member of our clan don't think Shamika is going to give you a break. She won't. @:-]
It looks as if Shamika will be opening a second server to run CTF, Domination or Assult. This server will be listed with a different IP. The current IP for Shamika's Booty Kick'n UT{Test Server} is 24.13.195.204 save this in your fav's the IP will not change. I will get you the other IP as soon as it comes online.
I have been collecting Screen shots so look for more Action shots soon.
Whiplash is still the the main fragger in the clan. As hard as we try he seems to come out on top most often. I guess we need to practice more!

Well, as you can see, the web page is coming along fine. The first test phase of the Shamika Server has come to a close. The original server was a Packard Bell Pentium 233mhz, 36 megs ram, 4.2g hard drive, 16x CD, Linksys Etherfast 10/100 nic, ATI Rage Pro pci video card w/tv out, intergrated audio. The TV out works great since this is a dedicated server, sitting in my home entertainment center and no gaming is done on the server (except when Scooby Doo plays her Lego racer game). This server seemed to handle up to 6 players with little or no lag. This seems to be a limitation of the CABLE MODEM and not the server. The lack of memory will be addressed in the new server. This didn't seem to bother play but loading the next level took a while.
The new Shamika will be an AMD K6-2 300mhz(I had it laying around), 128megs PC100 ram, 17.3g hard drive, 50x CD, Linksys Etherfast 10/100 nic, same ATI video card, Montego A3D sound on a FIC 2013 mb. I do have a Voodoo 3 3000 AGP w/tv out but the FIC boards will not handle voltage pulled by this video card. I hope to have the NEW Shamika Server up and running by 2/22/2000. It should be up every weekend and a couple times a week time permitting.
Rumor has it that Shamika may be supported by a maintained 384Kbps SDSL line. That would mean Shamika could support up to 12 players. The cable company limits upload speed to 128Kbps and this is Max possible. This number varies due to neighborhood usage. Until then Shamika will keep playing with 6-7 players.
