I was so far from the stage and I only could take pictures of the big video screens. This is the best of them, imagine how are the worst.

I’m very lucky. I’ve seen and listened Big Star playing live at the Benicassim International Festival. The pictures? I prefer don’t talk about pictures, let’s talk about how a song can makes you cry.

I don’t think Big Star is a band for this kind of indie festivals You know how are these shows with a lot of people (40.000) and most of them supporters of the last bands (PJ Harvey, Pulp and Orbital played after Mister Chilton).

In spite of the ignorant crowd, the Big Star lovers could enjoy with the legendary songs like Feel, The Ballad of El Goodo, In the street, Don’t lie to me, Back of a Car or September gurls (I must confess I cry with joy with this one).

But not all was perfect. A lot of sounds troubles got angry Alex Chilton and was in  the sixth song when the show really began. Jon Auer and Ken Stringfellow were cool, specially in the Ballad of El Goodo choir line. In short: I wished you were there, power pop lovers. -- Fertonic
