The Shorter Wedding

Anyway, my proudest moment came after the ring ceremony and I got to say those words, "Now by the power vested in me by the State of New York, and in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit <dramatic pause> I pronounce you man and wife." That was great.

The feedback was positive as well. Friends, colleagues, and strangers came up to me and greeted me, thanking me for a job well done. It was a bit weird, but gratifying. And the rest of the evening went exceptionally well, though I should have requested the Aerosmith song (from Armageddon) before I left. Oh, I also ate like a horse right after the ceremony. The appetizers were really good!

Well, I've stopped referring to myself as "The Reverend Elliott Wong" and am back to plain old, "Elliott." But I will continue to hold my ordination for another year. So if in that year you should find yourself in prison, feel free to call. :-) (Sorry, but you should get someone experienced for a death and I'm going to retire from weddings after Nathan's and Jen's. That just leaves prison visitations.)

Special thanks to Amy for accompanying me and keeping me sane throughout the day. And thanks to Ali for letting me have a dance with her.

I'm no dummy.
