| 1. cage 2. hammock 3. sleep sack 4. litter and litter box (at least two boxes..one for inside the cage and one for outside) 5. food (We currently are feeding 8 & 1 Ultimate, Totally Ferret, Zupreem, Sheppard and Greene. We also mix some cat food and treats) 6. water bottle 7. Ferret treats 8. Ferretone. This is a liquid vitamin that you can use as a treat. 9. Ferret Shampoo or baby shampoo. This you can get later...within a month after adopting. They should have a bath no more than once every other month. Bathing a ferret can even be done once or twice a year. 10. Brush. Soft brush...either a baby brush or a ferret brush. 11. Nail clippers. Nails will have to be clipped about every two weeks or as needed. We have found that baby nail clippers work the best. 12. Q-tips. Used for cleaning ears. 13. Food dish (the best ones are ones that hook on to the cage - otherwise you will have food everywhere!) 14. Blankies - baby blankets work best. Just gives them something to curl up with either in the hammock or just in the cage. Depending on the size of the cage, depends on how many you may need. You can start out with two and go from there. 15. Ferret-vite. Vitamins and used for treats. 16. Hairball remedy. This can be cat or kitten hairball stuff. Ferrets do get hairballs and they can die as a result of a blockage.. 17. Toys....now this you can wait on. They may find things that they like to play with that you already have. They do like balls, plastic bags and boxes.. Just make sure that any toy you get for them isn't soft rubber or leather. They like to chew on these things and can cause a blockage. 18. Most importantly they need LOTS of LOVIN'! |
| If you don't already have....you should get Ferrets for Dummies. It is the best book out there and only runs around $14.00 |
