| In 2003 Luke came into the shelter. He was a sweet boy, always wanting to be held and loved. We adopted him out to a gentleman who had adopted before from us. Luke and his new friend was only at the new home for about 6 months before they had to come back. He was going into the Border Patrol and couldn't keep the ferrets due to the training and moving not to mention the long hours. Luke wasn't doing too good. He was found to have helocobacter. He hated the medication and I hated giving it to him... I have dealt with ferrets not liking medication... and learned to adapt to it.... but throwing up and foaming I have not dealt with.... that was what happened when I gave Luke his meds... Luke didn't get any better with the medications that we had him on. He didn't want to take them, didn't want to eat and force feeding him all of that wasn't working either. We finally decided that enough was enough and helped him cross over to the bridge. He was ready to go... but we weren't ready to let him go. |
