Chip is a male silver who came into the shelter in 2004. He was almost 2 years old. His owner couldn't keep him and Jib (but could get the big dogs he had) during his move. Because Jib has trust issues she was not easy to adopt out. We have worked with her... but her issues are still there - they are now permanent residents due to the length that they have spent with us and that they are now over 6 years old.
Jib is a female albino who came into the shelter in 2004. She was almost 2 years old. Her owner couldn't keep her and Chip(but could get the big dogs he had) during his move. Because Jib has trust issues she was not easy to adopt out. We have worked with her... but her issues are still there - they are now permanent residents due to the length that they have spent with us and that they are now over 6 years old. She can really be a sweetheart and if the right family came along we would consider adoption for these two kids.
Chester came into the shelter in 2004. He was three years old and hadn't had much out or play time. He is a dark-eyed while male. We found out quickly that he was a cuddle bug. Loved to play with other ferrets and with people. He had adrenal surgery at 5 years old and has recovered pretty well. He now has insulinoma and is on medication to help control it.
Gus.... He came into the shelter in 2005. A lady in Tucson had found him wandering the streets and tried to put him with her kids. But he started losing weight and she didn't have the money to care for his needs. I picked him up and quickly found out that he was missing several important teeth and that his back leg was disformed. He is on baby food 3 times a day and eats "some" kibble. He is about 8 years old and is a cinnimon ferret... and a cuddle bug.
Baby is a light sable girl. She came to the shelter around 2002 after her owners (friends of mine) decided that it would be better for her here because their ferrets didn't like her at all and she was kept as a single ferret. But at the shelter she developed friends. She is now 6 years old and still acts like a 3 year old... sometimes a 1 year old. Her owners had asked that we not adopt her out because she had been bounced around before. Now with her age and her bond to some of the other ferrets - she is a permanent resident.
