The History of FERRAROGEAR
Back To FERRAROGEAR
May 29, 2001- The first match took place between John Ferraro and Matt Corbetta. The match was put together by Ken Romanello, who would later go on to become the boxing promoter of the organization. The first match was not a boxing match, but rather a slap-boxing match, which took place in the Port Chester High School gymnasium after school. Ferraro would go on to win the match by way of TKO, from a disqualification of his opponent, Corbetta. Prior to this fight, Ken Romanello got the idea, while in 9th period chemistry, to have Ferraro make a ring entrance. To do so, Romanello felt that he should be wearing his own apparell, and quickly turned a sweatshirt into the first "FERRAROGEAR". The shirt displayed on the back "FERRAROGEAR.com", which at the time, was just supposed to be a joke. After seeing the large turnout in the gym that day, Romanello decided to actually pursue the idea of creating a website, where local boxing fans could share comments of the previous bout, and possibly any upcoming bouts as well. Every day during first period, Romanello and Ferraro, worked on publishing their website. Upon creating the website, the only decision to be made was whether or not to leave the name FERRAROGEAR, or change the name to ROMANELLO BOXING INC. After giving it much thought, Romanello decided to name his organization after his first ever fighter, Mr. John Ferraro. Along the way, Romanello carried Ferraro along with him, after making his retirement speech, and offered him a position in the office as his Vice-President. The two later went on to add Mr. Declan Josephson to the team as Chairman of the Board. The three set off strong, and the future of the organization  looked promising.

The next fight, but first real boxing match, took place in front of a capacity crowd in early June. The fighters were Matt Corbetta VS. Joel "Chicken" Jenson. After winning by a 2nd round TKO, the Chicken's career began to look bright. During this match, Romanello handed out over two-dozen "FERRAROGEAR" t-shirts, which he hand-made in Mrs. Smith's period 2 art class.The shirts proved to be a huge success, and began to become a highly demanded object throughout Port Chester, and became FERRAROGEAR'S big money maker.

The next fight looked to out do the first, as Mike Innominato made his ring debut against last minute opponent, Lenny Quezada. Quezada went on to win the match, which featured an actual ring, ring girl (Krystle John), as well as Budweiser blimp. The next fight took place driectly after between Josh The Stormin' Mormon Jenson and William The Jr. Mexican Olivera. Jenson prevailed after 3 rounds by a split decision.

The next 2 fights took place shortly after, at Romanello's house. Innominato tried to reclaim his name against a respectable opponent, Andrew Dorazio. After  3 rounds, Dorazio won the match by unanimous decision. The next fight was the main event, and promised to be the best fight yet, as the crowd was highly anticipating seeing Chicken Jenson's ring entrance which displayed him dancing, sort of like a Prince Naseem entrance, only Chicken had his own theme song. His opponent was Craig Dooley. Chicken won by TKO in the third round.

The next string of fights tried to out do those of the past by featuring the President of FERRAROGEAR himself making his ring entrance against Mike Innominato.  Romanello (The Almighty), won in a second round TKO. The next fight was a FERRAROGEAR record for shortest fight ever, as Chicken Jenson wasted no time in disposing of The Jr. Mexican Olivera. Jenson knocked him out in 30 seconds of the first round, and went on later to say that he would be training for 2 months in his hometown of Ontario, Canada, to fight again in late August.

Over the course of time, some ametures thought it would be wise to start up their own boxing organization, much like that of FERRAROGEAR. We, however, do not honor their false organization, and shun the idea of these rookies.

Throughout the course of the last two months, FERRAROGEAR has experienced some difficulties, yet managed to maintain and prevail. Let's take a look at some of those difficulties;
the creation of the M.A.F.(Mother's against FERRAROGEAR), a $25 million dollar lawsuit for unauthorized use of irriplacable material, the creation of the S.V.A. (Stop Violent Actions), and also the creation of "Dorazio Gear", which we pay no attention to anyhow (see message boards-"Please Read").

After many negotiation, the heads of FERRAROGEAR and DORAZIOGEAR have reached an agreement and have decide to merge corporations. The name FERRAROGEAR will stand, and the addition of our new members makes our future look bright.

Through the thick and the thin, FERRAROGEAR stands, and will not stop, because we can't stop. Once again, "we shall prevail"
