The Almighty cruises past Doof in Round 2
Port Chester,June 18- The "Almighty" Kenny Romanello was yet again victorious with a second round TKO over opponent, Mike Innominato. Romanello, who continued his perfect winning streak to 50-0, came out slow in the beginning, as he seemed to be evaluating the way his opponent would fight. Innominato throughout the coures of the fight fought dirty, and used illegal tactics, such as tackling, low blows, head locking, back of the head punches, and hitting during a break. Innominato should have been disqualified in the first round, but referee Josh Jenson kept the fight going. The second round bell rung, and Romanello came out like an animal, like the normal Romannelo we are used to seeing. He took some haymakers from Innominato, but they had no effect. Romanello just smiled and lowered his hands as to say,"that's the best you got?"
In the second round, the two were going toe to toe, and once again, after getting frustrated, Innominato resorted back to illegal tactics. The match began to look like a bout in 1998 between Mike Tyson and Francois Botha. Every time Romanello was on the offensive, Innominato quickly locked up his arms so that he would not be able to land any more punches. This excessive holding angered Romanello, and brought about words between both fighters. While referee Josh Jenson attempted to break apart the fighters, Innominato snuck in a cheap shot while Romanello was trying to walk to his corner. This cheap shot resulted in a deduction of 1 point. Just then, a frustrated, winded, and angered Innominato, decided to throw in the towel, and left the ring in a disgusted fashion. He was not available for comment after the fight, as he quickly exited the arena back to his locker room. During Romanello's rambling about Allah and Matt Corbetta during his post-fight interview, the loser,Mike Innominato decided that he would like to try again, but he had his chance, and the fight was over. He tried to make it seem like Romanello backed out of a rematch, but to be honest, the fight would not have gone past 5 rounds anyway. Perhaps it was best for Innominato to just walk away, rather than suffer any severe damage that was just waiting to be unleashed by "The Almighty" Kenny Romanello.
Maybe it was the entrance music of Romanello, or maybe it was seeing his entourage screaming as he entered the ring, maybe it was Romanello's fearless style, and furocious behavior that made Innominato quit. Or quite possibly it was that he was simply not ready to fight the likes of a worthy opponent, such as "The Almighty" Kenny Romanello. Whatever it was that made Mike give up, was obviously too strong for him to overcome. As for what's to come next; it's unpredictable. Romanello says he wants Matt Corbetta next. Innominato says he wants Romanello again. Expect Romanello to fight Corbetta in the near future, rather than give Innominato another chance, just so he can injur Romanello, and besides, Innominato had his chance today, but he showed no heart, and really displeased a lot of fans. Innominato now stands at 1-23. Maybe it is time to consider retirement.
