I visited the Port Isabel Lighthouse on 7th Sep 2003. It was my first visit to Texas, USA and I was housed in McAllen, Texas, which was where the airport was located and was about 7 miles from the border into Mexico.

Port Isabel was located about 66 miles from McAllen. From McAllen, travel on highway US83 East (34 miles), then join to US77 South (12 miles) before exit to take highway Texas 100 East (20 miles).

You will know you have reached your destination. The lighthouse very prominently located as you reach the city of Port Isabel. You will also see Queen Isabel Bridge ahead which will lead you into the South Padre Island, which is basically another tourist attraction, featuring beautiful beaches, shops, food and
sexy girls, as a local friend likes to put it. Yes, I did see some sexy girls! Sorry, no picture to show.
