Candlemaking
1. When cutting your wick length, make sure you leave about 1 inch out the bottom of your mould.
2. If you freeze your candles they will burn better.
3. For an aromatic candle add a few drops of essential oil to the candle before lighting, as the wax melts it warms the oil.
4. for a special candle, when partially set try adding  dried flowers or petals or even small charms.


Sewing
1. when using slippery fabrics place tissue underneath and remove when finished stitching, this gives you a better grip.
2. When left with short lengths of cotton on reels and spools, wind onto one reel and use for tacking (basting).

Cross stitch
1. when using metallic thread, only use short lengths and slightly dampen.
2. to keep your work clean use a self sealing freezer bag.
3. when working on dark colours, place a white cloth underneath, this helps you see the holes clearly

General Tips
1.To remove previously glued items , i.e hard as nails. Use an ink refill syringe filled with white spirit and gently squeeze behind item, leave for 30 mins and gently remove item.
