| The Iwaki Mountain is located in the Tsugaru Peninsule, just where Hirosaki also is. Even in summer, the mountain keeps covered by snow. Its is the only time of the year that it is opened for climbing. We tried that and it was really fun! | ||||||||||||||||||||||

| Just under 15000 people live in this western Tsugaru coastal town named Ajigasawa. It is one of Tsugaru's more prosperous towns, complete with a popular public beach, a ski resort and a golf course. That is the closest beach from Hirosaki and that is the one we chose to visit in Summer/2000. | ||||||||||||||||||||||

| Summer is also the perfect time to visit Matsushima, considered the third best view of Japan. Matsushima is just a few minutes by train from Sendai, worth visit it, we would say that. The best way to get there is to take a "dragon boat" from Shiogama Port. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
