We arrived in the land "Down Under" in December/1999, for a two weeks vacation. Sydney is the largest city in Australia and was built around one of the most spectacular harbours in the world. The Sydney Opera House, which is the city's symbol and its most famous tourist attraction, is situated on the eastern side of the Circular Quay. The Opera shell-like roofs were inspired by palm fronds and the Opera itself is bigger than one can see on pictures and post-cards.

We were in the Opera surroundings on December 31st /1999, waiting for the beginning of the year 2000 and we had the privilage to see the beautiful spectacle of the fireworks greeting the first seconds of the New Year.
Another Sydney's symbol is the Harbour Bridge. Its construction was concluded around the 30's and, since then, it's considered as an icon of the city, partly because it's the world's largest arch bridge, partly because has the privilege of being located in the beautiful Sydney bay, just in front of the Opera House.
