Youth Entrepreneurship

Economic problems that stroked Indonesia in 1998 and 2008 are so intricate. They resulted to create redundancy for most of industrial workers. By then, one of the most sophisticated economical problems is the unemployment in Indonesia. The job opportunities which are available are still far from enough to accommodate the amount of labors that exaggerated. This has become the government’s responsiblities for a long time but it has not been resolved yet.

My proposition to solve this problem is by augmenting the number of entrepreneurs in Indonesia in order to increase the number of job opportunities. A person who is applying the concept of entrepreneurship is independent and able to create their own jobs as well as for others by their own ideas of business. They use the accessible resources creatively and innovatively.  Entrepreneurship is not absolutely only a gift or talent but in fact it is the matter of the characteristic of entrepreneurs itself. How it appears when someone is dared to develop their ideas by particular business, distinct they are employee, teacher, or doctor.

However, Some psychological factors discourage the interest to be involved in the entrepreneurial profession, in instant aggressiveness , competitiveness, ignorance, dishonesty, greedy, and the high risk of failure. This point of view is embraced by most people, so they are not interested to become an entrepreneur. A common paradigm by the elders has also been barred the motivation. On of the believes is that people could gain more respect from the community if they become a civil servant .

Do you know that Indonesia has been left behind with the number 1.2% of entrepreneur compared to Malaysia. 2% of the total civilian is required. But then, our neighbor country, Malaysia, has a higher number than Indonesia with 2.1%. Let me tell to you about two successful stories about young entrepreneurs in Indonesia who will motivate you all. Well tela-tela is one of the famous snack in Indonesia, Febri Riyanto is the man behind this successful business. He can earn an income for about 2-3 billion each month from his business. Or Yoris Sebastian who is the youngest general manager in asia and the second youngest general manager in the world. Those two people have proved that age is not a burden to be a successful entrepreneur .We can be a great person if we have a great motivation.

Now, to build the motivation for young generation in Indonesia, I propose the government to held more socialization or workshop to people especially to students or to their parents about how important entrepreneur is. And I believe, by making the entrepreneurship as a subject at school, it is going to be expeditious. More youth could learn more about entrepreneurship and become a successful entrepreneur for a better future of our country, Indonesia. So guys let’s not wait, let’s contribute yourself to your country. Challenge yourself to try, brave to fail, and gain success.
