Inexperienced when it came to her newfound freedom, trouble was quick to find her. When only eight years old, Kanaya was a vampire victim. Cornered in one of the myriad dead end alleyways in the proximity of Ambrosia, she was easily pacified and would have certainly been just another death on a killer�s long list were it not for admirable timing on Julian�s part. Arriving and being sure the vampire was given a slow and meticulous death, Kanaya was taken back with him and raised by the age-old hybrid into one of his own, a slayer just like those she grew up with. He had expected her to be dazed and broken after the experience, but she seemed to remember less and less of the trauma as she grew, although she was still a spirited thing in all aspects.
