  The Tevla Roja ~

Now upon slipping into that marked area for looking down uppon the miniature habitat, one can determine movement and the presence of creatures here and there. A good peering reveals them to be small equines, perhaps an inch and a half tall at best.

Likely the most eye-catching of the lot though is two little creatures buzzling about within the securely caged air of the habitat. One is far darker than the other in body, though certainly bright enough of mane and feather to accomodate. Shrill equinine squeels of play are given as challenge from this one to the other. It's playmate is interestingly enough opposite in color, a sunset of reds and yellows playing across her hide though mane, tail, and small feathered wings were pitch black. So from this at least you can determine that the miniature horses are playful, and contented in their lifestyle.

Once your're done marvelling there though, you'll note ripples across that small artificial pond, small splashing sounds coming from there at the shore, and at your glance two more of the small equines frolicing in the sand and shallower water. One, a tiny unicorn, stands within the shallow bit of water, down at something of a playful crouch with his tufted whip-like tail flicking to either side of brightly colorful haunches. At first guess you might label him a pinto of white and gold. Then again, the bright blue here and there totally breaks that idea. And with a mane and tail-tuft of bright aquamarine, there's no telling what his coloration might be called. Now a bit away from him and far dryer prances a little pink mare, pallid mane flying about as she tosses her head, and bright red hooves occasionally pawing away at small piles of sand. Now oddly enough, this little filly has no tail. Odd really... as not even a stump remains as evidence of bobbing. For several long minutes you'll gaze upon the two, watching them play in the water as the others play in the air.

Now- more were notated upon the sign. And a bit of looking reveals them beneath the little tent-like structure. And no wonder... with their darker pelts they likely appreciated getting out of the sun. Three of the small equines graze there, and each sporting horns that protrude from miniature foreheads. All are fairly plain as well, except the first. The little mare oddly enough has bright red socks. Probably the results of an odd breeding. She doesn't seem to mind though, and neither do her companions. Now the second little mare is plain enough to please anyone. An even little chestnut, darker brown playing across her flank in an appaloos-type pattern and rising in socks up her little legs. And whilst slightly unexpected, the pale white mane surely passes as normal. The last that you can see is a tiny bay stallion with a white belly. Socks of black mark all four legs, mane and tail-tuft the same coal-dark hue.

Now this does not mean that just because that's all you can readily find, that these are all of the critters in the little enclosure. Ah no... hardly so. From beneath a bit of cultivated trees emerges another, this one remarkably similar to the ki-rin, a unicorn of asian legend. How about that? Downy plush brown fur, giving the tiny creature a fluffy look. And with those big dark eyes... how can one resist? The real interesting trait though is the little mare's scaled patches of hide. That's one hell of a rare trait. And her cause for fleeing with that playful little prance burts moments after from within one of the little bonsai trees. Another dark-colored pegasus... but what's this? Butterfly wings! And not some fantasy-based pattern, but attractive monarch patterning. Now besides these wings the tiny stallion is dark... very dark. A line of bright spots though travel his length, helping to orient one's eyes to if nothing else at least determine fore and hind parts. Ever the swarm grows though, another small pair diving in to join in the play from where they'd been taking to the air themselves. Both little stallions were styled after commonly known birds in coloration The first, a rooster. Between his generally bland body and wings, tail of iridescant black feathers, and bright red mane that stood forward like a cock's comb... there was simply no mistaking. He certainly had the attitude of one at that, he and the second (a vain little peacock in truth) posing and posturing. It was cute yes, but what was truly amazing was what came after, the two engaging in what looked to be competitive dressage. Prancing, posing, little hops and rears and bucks. Why such behaviors though? The answer comes by way of a small trio! And two of them mares at that! Why else should a young stallion classify himself so?

At the fore of the little trio comes a lovely and brightly colored little mare! A sort of tropical rainbow hue is she, white splattering her belly as though kicked up during a run and clamoring over her fore left leg as well. A white blaze, and a mane equally colorless but for bright stripes through it. Her tail tuft was the same. At either heel come her brood, a pair of twins likely of her own line, though both look to be the equivelant of two years of age. Once you've had your fill though it's time to turn about, and to leave the blissfully oblivious little beasties to their play.
